Quantcast
"You Load/We Drive" moves are usually much less expensive than full-service moves. You control your moving costs by loading your items yourself within the space you reserve. Charges are based on space used and distance traveled; weight is not considered. Because you load your own shipment, you are primarily responsible if scratches, dents, and breakage occur, although your shipment is covered for damage caused by company negligence or catastrophes.
Full service moving companies do the loading, driving, and unloading for you and also pack your items if desired. However, these moves are usually much more expensive than self-moves. Charges are based on the weight of the shipment and distance traveled. Items are covered for damage caused by company negligence or catastrophes and you can also buy enhanced valuation coverage for scratches, dents, and breakage from the company.
Auto transport companies These auto transporters own their own trucks and have their own drivers. They are not brokers that would shop your move to the lowest bidder and keep you waiting until someone agrees to move your car. If you ship your car with them, you can talk to the driver so you will always know where your car is. They are not cut-rate operators, but reviews show that they have performed very well for customers at reasonable cost.
Auto transport brokers do not own their own trucks. They book your car with the actual carrier and charge a small fee (typically $150-$200) to do so. A good broker with many contacts can be very helpful. However, choose one like ProStar that works with high-quality carriers and will not just place your car with the lowest bidder. The broker should also stay on top of your move so you know where your car is and when it will be delivered.
International moving companies arrange for your goods to be seen and measured, packaged, moved to port or airport, transported internationally, and delivered. For safety, be sure that any company you contract with is licensed by the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC).
MovingScam-Approved Companies There are many good moving companies besides the few companies that are formally endorsed by MovingScam. The following companies are properly licensed and insured. They have numerous excellent, believable reviews and few or no complaints, showing that they are committed to providing high-quality moves. They have each assigned a person to help MovingScam customers with any problems that may arise.

In view of this, MovingScam has given these companies its seal of approval. This seal of approval is a step below formal endorsement only because, as van line agents, they are not able to control every move from start to finish, although they are able to control moves that they do using their own trucks and drivers. Especially for the latter type of move, MovingScam.com recommends these companies with confidence.

Moved from OH to AL. Doubled the price before they entered the building. They have no respect for the persons belongings. Charged for boxes and crates notused. Very late delivery with inadequate help to unload and assemble. Almost everything was damaged to some degree and in total well over $5000 in damages. You should have seen inside the truck how it was stuffed in with metal stuff all over wood furniture, no boxes, crates and limited blankets. The abuse and attitude that I had to endure was the worst. Very unprofessional and will take total advantage of you. They know when they arrive you are in a bind and cannot change movers since your stuff is packed and you are leaving, you are stuck with them and will be at their mercy. Did not deliver all property and tried to hide damage. Photos at:

http://s1047.photobucket.com/albums/b476/fujimoh/Moving%20Disaster/?start=all

Their Quote = $4950 ... When they got there they 'adjusted' it to $9010.15. They Charged $1000 for SUPPLIES THEY DID NOT USE!

We have contacted American Express and have put their charge in dispute. The company refuses to work with us concerning the damage and the overcharges. We have contacted Progressive Insurance (my insurer) and are not filing a claim with them, however, Progressive Insurance is prepared to begin litigation against this company for their damages.

Complaints have been filed at DOT, AG-AL, AG-OH, AG-FL, BBB, Rip-offReport.com, MovingScam.com and AM NOT DONE YET!

I'm so sorry your move ended up like this. I know how it feels.

Where did you find this company, do you remember the website?

I'm curious about your insurance taking over the claim, since every homeowner's or renter's policy I've ever heard of excludes damage during moves because it's supposed to be covered by the movers' insurance. If you somehow got your insurance to pay for the damages, please, teach us how!

Also, please come back and update on the credit card dispute. I'd like to know what AmEx thinks of their charges.

He posted the company's info in his photobucket post -

Toll free number: (877) 497-5505 Phones: (305) 936-8630 Email: info@statewiderelocation.com Website: www.statewiderelocation.com State Wide Relocation Moving Services

To me the saddest thing to see was the broken runner on the poor little rocking horse.

A flock of terrible reviews and one (improbable) good review here - http://www.mymovingreviews.com/movers/state-wide-relocation-336

I was wondering if he remembered the website on which he found Statewide. Need to link all the unsavories together.

Legal name is New Times Moving, Inc. with MC #660028. Owner is Arik Azulay. Photos on Facebook, etc.

On protectyourmove.gov they list NO trucks and NO tractors, but 2 drivers, so they must be using rental trucks, or . . . ?

This company was scheduled through AA Auto&Home Movers ... Wendy Harrington (877-744-7489 x330). I will be filing complaints against this company tonight.

FYI: I contacted Lowe's as Statewide said the boxes were rotted. Lowe's has jumped on the band wagon and their corporate executives are contacting me today to offer their help and will blacklist the company and its affiliates.

Thus far, AmEx has reversed the charges so Statewide does not even have the money. AmEx wasn't photos printed with descriptions of damage and items that were not delivered.

Progressive has advised me that I am covered for this but since I told them that my objective is NOT to file a claim with them they are lending their legal team when I ask for it. I have both Auto and Home with them and for years without a claim.

Thank you for the alias information on this company. I am filing complaints against them as well.

UPDATE:
FINALLY, the BBB acknowledged my complaint and I got re reply from Statewide:

We would like to thank the customer for contacting the BBB regarding the information the customer has relayed to them. We are more then happy to provide documentation regarding the move to show not only did the customer sign all documentation stating the pricing was done prior to the loading of the truck. But also indicating the condition of the furniture at the pick up. Respectfully, the customer has gone to all avenues to relay her experience which she has every right to do , but with this the truth should be told. The customer who states all damages was done during the move signed at the delivery damage to one piece on the paperwork. Stated no blankets were on the furniture, yet the driver sent pictures of each item being offloaded with with covering. The customer is negating to advise the BBB her boxes were molded. That she did not want to incur more additional packing fees, therefore her boxes compromised the very stacking that could be done. Respectfully there are times that damages do happen. No one is negating that. Her partner was sent an email immediately upon calling the office to state there was damage and to date the claims company has not received notification from the client.

My response:
Apparently State Wide Relocation wants to believe what they want to believe. Their driver stated that he was AFRAID to tell the truth for he FEARED losing his livelihood ... in other words, retaliation. We have forwarded a 172 page color document to American Express supporting our dispute, filed complaints with the Attorney General of Alabama, Florida and Ohio, Department of Transportation - Freight Movers Agency. Progressive Insurance is aware of this as well. I fully believe that since they charged approximately $1,000 for moving supplies that they did not use AND that I have not thrown out ANYTHING, that the Attorney General for each state above will not find it difficult to bring charges of fraud against these people. Also, the photographs of the crushed boxes disprove the statement that they were molded. Under separate cover, I am sending this to the above mentioned companies and government agencies. A child can see that these boxes were not molded. The photographic evidence speaks for themself.

This started a FLURRY of activity and about 40 emails from Barbie at Statewide. I think they figured that since they gave it to me from behind that I would continue to take it.

UPDATE FROM STATEWIDE INSURANCE PROGRAM:

Contact: Amanda H. <amanda@csipros.org>

I did not fill out any paperwork nor complete a claim document and they AUTOMATICALLY have assigned a dollar amount:

$1531 and $116

So, what's up with this? They sent me a statement of my account ... this looks like a predetermined amount.

I suspect Statewide Relocation and CSI Pros have gone through this many a time and that Statewide wants this to go away and FAST!
