Re: User JAHaddow needs your help

I don't post much these days, but I hear about this the other day and this one is important to me. It looks like they're almost 1/2 way to their fundraising goal. Art has been a helpful and friendly "face" on the MovingScam.com forums for years and I know there are a lot of people here who...

Re: Deregulation returning to Florida?

Florida residents can find their state representatives here:

State Senators: http://www.flsenate.gov/
State House Representatives: http://myfloridahouse.gov/

Not very exiting, but the bill is available to read here:

Re: Class action anti-trust law suit against van lines

For what it's worth.... there's another new class-action law suit with the same complaint. This one is in Illinois: m The additional case seems to add merit to the complaints, however, it will be the courts who eventually decide who is right or wrong. In the meantime it's good to hear so many differ...

Re: Class action anti-trust law suit against van lines

It seems as though a few folks thought I was trying to pick a fight, however, I would rather have a thoughtful discussion. Thank you Fred for taking the high road here. It's nice to hear about the actual calculations with your driver and the comparison to the actual fuel charges. Has anyone else don...

Re: Class action anti-trust law suit against van lines

Actually, the case complaint is about how the fuel charge is calculated, not the cost of the fuel. I'd love to hear opinions from people who have taken the time to read the actual complaint.

Class action anti-trust law suit against van lines

I wanted to bring some attention to a class action law suit filed this March which names all of the major van lines, the AMSA, and un-named moving companies who have used the industry standard 400-N tariff. The tariff is the price structure used by moving companies to determine the cost of a move. T...

Re: A more reliable volume estimate?

Tim, you have 3 advocates for the ABF/Be/Moovers, I'm just trying to be an advocate for the North Americans, Allieds, Uniteds, Mayflowers and Atlases. Archie, ABF, BE, and Moovers are the ONLY companies that Movingscam.com officially recommends. Nobody is suggesting that everyone use them - we're t...

Re: A more reliable volume estimate?

Hey Archie, The last post has some advice that's useful, but I've been reading a lot of trash talk too. Didn't you say you wanted to help around here? Contributions are welcome, but if you're going to spend most of your time bashing people who donate a good portion of their own free to try to help o...

Re: Reviews of international movers (June 2004 to present)

I just wanted to let you know that I used Southern Wind International to move from NYC to Manchester, UK based on your site, and they were fantastic! Not only was the crew really nice, but so were the 'office' people in California, responding to email within the hour. My belongings were picked up, ...

Re: movingsham.com featured on www.consumerist.com

What makes it even worse is that the story was first published by CBS News' Real Estate web site, so between the two sites there have been a lot of people getting that information. I appreciate the publicity, and every story about moving scams helps out a lot of consumers... however... I never thoug...

Re: Moving from Rhode Island to Colorado

REAL MOVERS are required by Federal Regulations to provide only VISUAL estimates (except in rare circumstances) and I just can't agree with you here. I'm glad that Moovers is the best moover in history, but every move they do is probably not a rare circumstance. If my company advertised on this sit...
