Champions Movers has one truck, and has only been licensed since June. That's a too-small, too-new company to use for a coast-to-coast trip.
| Quote: | We serve such states as California, Oregon, Washington, Illinois, Florida, Massachusetts, and Texas as well as everything in between. We make cross-continental trips on a weekly basis.
|
The first sentence I can believe, but if they truly make cross-country trips on a weekly basis, then their truck is NEVER home to make money lcoally. What kind of a business plan is this? This cannot be true.

Or maybe they only make cross-country trips because they do not have a Cal-T license to perorm moves within the state of CA. They CAN'T operate locally! I can't find them under either Champions or Kadesh. If someone finds them, please post the number here. Their website does not list the CA number, only DOT/MC.
Their address of 47000 Warm Springs Blvd. Suite 260 Freemont, CA 94539
is a postal mailbox. The other address listed is 453 QUEENS LANE in San Jose. |

| Your blog says you got about 10 quotes....way too many. The pentagon does not get that many quotes for building jet bombers, that was unrealistic. What, did you think if you got that many quotes you would eventually get one you could afford? Why would you get 10 quotes, and waste 9 peoples time? If you took the lowest out of 10, then, as they used to say in Rome, Caveat Emptor. |

Archie, we don't blame the consumer here.
Archie is right though. It's hard to compare 10 quotes to each other. We usually advise 3-4 maximum. |

Archie: I wanted to see what was out there, and sadly, I didn't realize the moving business was so dirty, otherwise I would have done less quotes and more research.
But I don't personally think I- or anyone- deserved the kind of nightmare I got from Champions Movers. _________________ http://thecynicaluniverse.com |

| True, and my wisecrack was uncalled for, sorry. It can get frustrating on the other end of the spectrum too. A handful of crooks with nice websites and lax enforcement of existing regulations has ruined what was once a nice business, formerly dominated by multi generation families. |

| Big, I am guessing you are a little new on the board, I see that your post total is low, but your comment about SW/Jet blue is interesting, but I think that niche is being filled ( or trying to be filled) by BE, ABF, Moooovers and Delancy street....by that, I mean low cost, no frills, do it yourself stuff. Full service movers, at 70% discount are basically doing it for free. how anybody can save much money by doing it themselves when they can get professionals at a 70% discount is beyond me. This is a nice website, but where it used to cater mostly to people who got scammed, or were about to be scammed, it now caters to people who need to find the cheapest way to move, and the above mentioned names are where they are steered, 98% of the time. |

| Moovers and Delancey Street aren't You Pack-We Drive movers. They're Full Service movers. |

| Disagree....if they can't come to your house to give you a binding, legal, official, full blooded price, they are not full service....partial service, they are a niche mover, not full service |

Archie, I don't totally disagree with you. All I disagreed with was that you said "do it yourself".
Bigmove, you obviously haven't been around here very long, but we do recommend other movers than the ones we "officially" endorse. We do it everyday, numerous times a day. |
