Special Forces Moving doesn't have license to move you out of state, so that would be illegal. They had their license revoked as of April 2008:

Which Five Star Movers are you referring to? There are numerous companies out there with that name.

more info:
i was going with gentle giant (though they were the most expensive @ .85)
my move is this monday 19th they said 3-4 days they called today and said 19 days
i cant wait that long
i received a few quotes all ranging from .35 to .45
the problem is most said 4-9 days

they are the least expensive .35
it makes me nervous

Try calling either Marathon Moving or Big Foot Movers (see the Superlist linked to below my name). They are as good as Gentle Giant, in my opinion, and likely to be cheaper. But if you have a very small shipment, it may take a while to reach VA because the company won't be able to send a truck just for your one little shipment. If you choose Marathon, ask them whether they are going to haul it using one of their own trucks (desirable).

That is pretty big. Again, my advice is to call the two companies I mentioned. I've talked with the owners of both and I believe they are honest people. Remember, too, that you can't believe the promises of dubious companies about delivery times. I am not saying that Five Stars (that is its actual name) is dubious but it does advertise on Craigslist. Its website (with coupons on it) is www.fivestarsmovers.com if someone has time to research it further.

Also try calling All Star Moving in NYC and Moovers Inc. in NJ, two companies that we endorse on this website. They just might happen to have a truck in your area next Monday going south. Their contact information is on the Home Page here.

update
marathon could not do it too busy
I went with Big foot Mike was very nice and easy to work with
my only issue was he was looking for 40% down, he did settle for 10%
from what i have read that is not usual
I will post once the move is complete

It is not usual but maybe he wants to be sure you will go through with the move. Somebody just posted an excellent review of Big Foot and I've spoken with Mike on the phone. I feel sure that you will be safe with him.

completed move update

BIGFOOT was an excellent company to work with.

Mike, the president of the company put our minds at ease. He was very responsive and followed up on every aspect.

Dave, there Pm was extremely efficient and easy to get along with.

They showed up on time on both ends. Picked up on Friday and delivered on Sunday.
Nothing was scratched or broken, by far the best move I have ever been part of.

Dave, was the head guy and driver. He lead the team on both ends.
they were the middle of the road not as expensive as GG but more than some other shaddy people.
