How Do We Judge Rental Truck Size?

Postby smover » Wed Jul 06, 2005 9:45 am

According to BE's calculator, we have 14 linear feet of stuff to move. It's a 900 sq. ft. 2-bedroom apartment. Any idea how this would translate into truck rental lengths? I have 16' and 22' Penske options.

Thank you!

Hi - both BE and ABF U-Pack have conversion charts on their websites for comparing linear feet to rental van sizes. I think the charts are identical. Anyway, the BE one says that 12 linear feet is the equivalent of a 17-foot truck and 19 linear feet is the equivalent of a 24-foot truck. So the 24-foot truck should be plenty big for your things.
