Excel Carriers/ Excel Movers out of Tuscon AZ/Englewood NJ

After reading experiences with other scams, I have decided not to use this company as I am almost positive it is a scam. I sent a quote request through Billy.com, and while I was on phone with other companies, the salesman from Excel called me about 8 times in a little over an hour. Clearly he was desperate to get on the phone with me. He gave me very clear details about the company, but I have not been able to verify a single statement he made. I am looking to do an in-town move in NYC, and he said they were located out of Englewood, NJ. When I looked up the information he gave me about the company, it was based out of Tucson, and Google Maps showed the address as being in the middle of a very residential area.

He sent me a link to their BBB profile, which lists it having been open since the 90s, with not a single complaint. Yet I also can't find a single positive, let along negative, review of this company. Since my conversation with Michael, who gave me the quote and also seems to be the owner, he has sent me emails with links to their BBB site and negative comments concerning other movers I might use in NYC. He also spent a long time telling me how the company is military approved, although I see no evidence of that anywhere but on their 'website'.

Additionally, he insisted the name was 'Excel Carriers', but the BBB site he sent me was 'Excel Movers'.

Everything about the interactions I've had and information and information I have not been able to find suggests there is something not right about this business.

There are many good movers [real ones] in Tucson. Stay off the internet looking for movers unless you are researching van line agents.

Anybody who can't verify their information should be avoided like the plague.
