The Review Verification System (RVS) is a unique way of collecting data on your experience with your move. Its primary purpose is to let other consumers know about that experience and allow them to determine, based on your move, whether or not to use that company.
The RVS is a large database of movers who are located all over the world. While it is by no means complete, it does allow users to add movers that don’t appear in the database, thereby adding to the list of movers from which people can research, review and choose.
Where’s the stars?
While many other review sites use a ratings system as a “quick” view as to how a company performed, we feel that this doesn’t tell the whole story. A detailed, complete review about your experience, is much more likely to tell someone else if they want to use a company than the three stars you might have given that company for your experience. A detailed review also lets the company know where they let you down, allowing them to make adjustments to their service and try to do better in the future. 95% of the moving companies out there are made up of good, hardworking people, who want nothing more than have your move go as well as you have planned.
I would like to review my mover
To review your mover, simply hover your mouse over the “Reviews” button at the top of the page, and select (click) “Submit a Review”. This will take you to a new screen which will ask you to find your mover by Zip Code, Name or DOT number. Choose one of these and input the required information. For the “Search by Company Name”, you will see a drop down menu, in which you can type your mover’s name. Names of moving companies should appear as you type. Find your mover in the list and click on it, then click “Select” to the right of the drop down window. This will open up a new page displaying the information for that moving company. Please double check all the information in the new drop-down window and verify that this is your mover.
To write a review, simply start typing! We will want to know the date of your move, the bill of lading (or invoice) number, and a detailed description of how your move went with this company. The bill of lading number is an important element in the RVS, as it allows a mover to quickly verify that they actually performed the move. The RVS allows the company a chance to verify that they performed the move and a means to respond to your review. Most movers want to make sure you had a good move, and are willing to engage you in a conversation to make things right if a move didn’t go as well as planned. If a mover chooses not to verify a move, maybe because it was reflected poor service, the review will still be posted, but marked “unverified”. Too many “unverified” reviews will mean you will want to research before you use this mover.
Once you’ve written your review, please make sure you fill out all requested information, and click “Submit” at the bottom of the screen. Your review has now been submitted.
My Mover’s not listed. What now?
If you don’t find your mover listed in the database, we invite you to create an entry for your mover. Hover your mouse over the “Reviews” link at the top of the page. Click the link “Submit a Review”. On the next page you will find a link that says “Can’t find the moving company you were looking for?” Clicking this link will take you to a new page where you can fill in the information for your mover. Please be as detailed as possible and fill in as many fields as you can. The company you used is required by law to give you their DOT and MC license numbers, so if you’re creating a new mover to perform a review, you should have this information on hand.
I want to do research, but I don’t see any reviews for my mover
The Review Verification System is still in its infancy. There is a strong chance that your mover won’t have any, or very few reviews at this point. If you go to look for a mover and there are no reviews in the RVS, click on the “Review” link at the top of the page. On the next page click “Check out the Super List” to find reviews on your mover. The super List is organized by state, and there is a good chance you will find the information you need on a given mover. If you searched the Super List, and still can’t find the mover you were looking for, try posting to the forums to see if anyone has heard of them.
Additionally, finding information you need on your mover can be found in several ways by reading through our article “How to Find a Reputable Moving Company”.
Hopefully I’ve managed to cover the basic questions people are having about the Review Verification System. If someone has a question that I haven’t covered, please don’t hesitate to ask. You can do so by clicking the “Comments” link at the top of the page and sending us an email letting us know what information you need to know about the RVS. With your help, the RVS will grow over time and become just as useful as the Super list. We thank you for visiting MovingScam.com and appreciate your adding your knowledge to ours.
