Re: Stevens International for International move - MAJOR DAMAGE

Was this moved handled by Stevens agents all the way? For example: a shipment can be ordered to a location for inspection by customs. The carrier has no choice in the location and cannot be present during inspection. Did the Stevens shipment end at the local storage or at residence? I'm not sure - ...

Re: Stevens International for International move - MAJOR DAMAGE

Something else I noticed is that the box shown in the first post is similar to the ones used during my move to Germany and back. I only had about 1500 pounds of items, not enough to warrant a full container. It is my understanding that my boxes like those were packed in a container with other boxes...

Re: Stevens International for International move - MAJOR DAMAGE

What I see here is a customer who didn't properly insure the shipment, and suffered damage which wasn't properly insured, and now expects coverage. I'm very familiar with the PAC Global forms, which are in English. I see a shipment with over 300 pieces, 3 of which were damaged (1% of the shipment),...

Re: Stevens International for International move - MAJOR DAMAGE

So...it's apparently OK for someone who has never previously participated in any forum topics to publicly slam a service provider they contracted with if their situation "isn't handled swiftly and well", but others are supposed to be suspicious if another "new" visitor comments on their "post" and ...

Re: Stevens International for International move - MAJOR DAMAGE

Good companies? They destroyed a ton of my stuff, how are they a good company? They don't even know how or when it happened, and won't take responsibility for it, apologize, or admit fault. I think that's pretty damned far from a good company. A good company wouldn't have let boxes to rot in water f...

Re: Stevens International for International move - MAJOR DAMAGE

Yes it's my first move. And yes I should have paid more attention and trusted less in the company handling the move. But it hardly excuses the negligence of their handling my things, or would you say that this extent of damage is common, "Moving Queen" who just joined to reply to my post? I did list...

Re: Stevens International for International move - MAJOR DAMAGE

Why are you posting complaints before they have a chance to do restitution? ?? The insurance company is refusing to pay for the camera and anything related to it. I tried to find a middle ground and they refuse to negotiate. So they had a chance to do restitution, and they denied me. I mentioned th...

Re: **Stevens International / Alpha International

I couldn't find my old login info, so I'm here under Notmeyer now (but I was Amara before). Stevens International DESTROYED my move, and won't pay for it.

The new thread is here:

I've filed a complaint on MovingScam.com, the BBB, RipoffReport.com, and on The Squeaky Wheel. You can see my complaint on The Squeaky Wheel here. http://www.thesqueakywheel.com/complaints/2008/OCT/complaint41580.cfm

Re: Reviews of international movers (June 2004 to present)

Please note my HORRIBLE experience with Stevens International on a move from Italy to San Francisco. We're still fighting and I am most likely going to take them to court for negligence for all the damage they caused. http://www.movingscam.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=118831 As the poster before me not...

Re: Stevens International for International move - MAJOR DAMAGE

PAC got back to me and offered me $900 in damages. They gave me this added note as to why they refused to pay for the camera or cases: Notes: * The Underwriters have offered $0 compensation for these items due to the Terms and Conditions, “Items not declared and valued are not insured.” These items ...

Re: Stevens International for International move - MAJOR DAMAGE

Stevens has been fine so far (other than the fact that this happened in the first place). It's more the insurance company I don't trust because I never trust insurance companies. The damage to replace everything comes to a bit more than $2700. The "worth" of the shipment on the form was $8050.00, an...

Stevens International for International move - MAJOR DAMAGE

I contracted with Stevens International to move me from Italy to San Francisco. They picked my stuff up in mid-July and it came to the SF port in mid-September. I actually got it Oct 3rd after having it stored for about 2 weeks so I could get in my new place. My things were packed by Alpha Internati...
