The average winch will only have about 4 foot of travel, depending on type. The cable I reference would be a tow strap of 15 feet or more that allows you to get the length to reach your car. I had used a car hauler to move a 1969 Rambler, yep that's right. I did this solo. I used a cable winch and moved it onto the trailer. I would NOT suggest this method unless you know how to fully brace the car each time you have to shorten the cable or move to a new area to attach. I started at the ...
