I was told that the fee was related to big trucks being prohibited from entering NYC and that I would have to have my things loaded onto a shuttle. Is this an additional tariff? My zip code is 11105.

Has anyone recently moved to or from NYC and had to deal with a metro fee? I interviewed at least three movers before one of them told me that it was an unavoidable issue for us that will cost at least an additional $600. Thanks, Diane! I contacted Big Johns, per your earlier suggestion, and unfortunately they aren't doing any LA pickups within my timeframe. (Flatrate also doesn't pickup in Los Angeles.) But I'm calling Gemini, Andy's Transfer and Beverly Hills Transfer today. Thanks again for all of your help. Andi

I am moving from Los Angeles to New York at the beginning of April. Christina - which mover did you choose in the end? Lisa & Christina - how were your moves? Would you recommend your movers?

I used CA-NY Express to move to Los Angeles from NY two and a half years ago. It cost about $2500 to move a one-bedroom apartment with a huge breakfront.
