Re: ALERT - avoid Worldwide Moving Systems (FL), MC #445191

No, that wasn't the address either. I wish I remembered what it was, but I know it was in Northwest Dade county. It looks like WorldWide has done a significant amount of reorganization since I last looked at them - Mr. Parker doesn't seem to be associated with the company any more, or if he is, he's...

Re: ALERT - avoid Worldwide Moving Systems (FL), MC #445191

For anyone who still cares, 1419 NW 65th ave. in Plantation is in fact a commercial property; I drove past it yesterday. However, this is not the address that was on file when this thread was originally active. The address was in NW Dade county, and was in fact a residence; unfortunately I no longer...

Claims resolved :)

Hello again everyone, I thought I would come back and give you an update on my move and claims. History here: m Summary: Moved from NJ to FL last August with Atlas, and paid for full valuation. They were a couple of weeks late delivering because of the hurricanes, and just barely made it before my w...

Re: moving from NJ to Hollywood FL...any help

Just to weigh in here... I moved from NJ to Miami in August with an Atlas agent that hasn't been discussed in this thread. The local agent in New Jersey was pretty good but the long-haul was miserable. For that reason alone, unless the agent can guarantee you they will handle the move the entire way...

Re: Seemingly bogus storage in transit charges

I wanted to relay a quick, relevant story about my recent move with Atlas... When I originally got my estimate, I didn't have my destination address, so my estimator just got the zip code. Then, when I met with my move coordinator to sign the paperwork, I had my address so I gave it to her. When the...

Re: Olympic Moving & Storage (Evanston, IL)

I had to post this follow-up... I was driving on I-95 the other day down here in Miami, and was stuck in a traffic jam... and guess what pulled up next to me? A Ryder truck with a magnetic "Olympic Moving & Storage" sign stuck to the side. My wife (then girlfriend) was scammed by them a little over ...

Re: AVOID BENNY'S MOVING (= Globe Van Lines)

Time for me to jump in here... According to Benny's Moving & Storage's website, their address in California is: 9019 Oso Ave Chatsworth, CA 91311 According to our very own blacklist , that's the same address as Eli Sharvit's former company and mega-scammer, West Coast Movers. Eliyahu Sharvit was sen...

Re: Update on my claim

Michael - There wasn't a waiver (that I'm aware of anyway, unless it was buried in the other documentation), and I wasn't even aware it was particle board until I found the missing piece that had conveniently been placed in a drawer. It's not one of those cheapo buy it at the store and assemble it t...

Re: alpha movers

You forgot to mention that we have never been fined for any of these violations, since they were PROMPTLY corrected, and that the insurance history page being long means nothing, since it is almost 10 years old (it is not uncommon for a company to change insurance companies). To correct the above s...

Re: How Much Do I Tip???

Quick comment - during my move with Atlas from NJ to FL (it was $3000 or so), I reserved tip money for the crews of $60 at origin and $120 at destination and was going to give it to them depending on their service. (I reserved more at destination because the logistics were a nightmare - 3rd floor, l...

Update on my claim

History here: http://www.movingscam.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2549&highlight= Brief summary: I moved with Atlas from NJ to FL in August and they broke a bunch of stuff. They destroyed a plastic storage tub, sheared the bottom off of a pillar leg on my dining table, and took a chunk out of the side o...

Re: mk shipping: Has anyone heard of this company?

FYI, based on a reverse telephone lookup, this company's phone number is for a private residence:

P. Santiago
13311 133rd Ave
South Ozone Park, NY
(718)-843-4580

I would be rather suspicious of this company, based on this alone.

Update: Moving NJ to FL ... need damage advice

Hello again everyone. I'm back from my wedding and honeymoon, and wanted to post an update on what's happened since my last post. It's a long story, I'm sorry in advance... As of my last post, I was very uncomfortable with my late, but reconfirmed delivery date of Wednesday, Aug. 25. The agent had c...

Re: Move update NJ to FL - need advice

Update: I just got a phone call from my local agent asking "Is there ANY way we could deliver on Thursday?" I said: "No, I'm getting on a plane at 3pm, that won't work." So they said "Ok, I'll call the driver and tell him it HAS to be there Wednesday." I said: "Oh by the way, you do remember the shu...

Re: Move update NJ to FL - need advice

23 - I hope you're right, I appreciate the confidence. I'm only skeptical because they've rescheduled on me once already, and they keep forgetting I need a shuttle at destination. Speaking of the shuttle, how will that work at destination? Will my long-haul driver have to take my stuff to a local ag...
