Suddath United Review (South FL)

Hello everyone, This is my review of Suddath United of Deerfield Beach, Florida. I moved in late August from Deerfield Beach, Florida to Massachusetts after considering many, many South Florida moving companies. Lets get right to it: Suddath United gets 2 big, big thumbs up! Here are the highlights:...

Re: FL to MA move any recommendations

Roger, I'm also moving from Ft. Lauderdale (area) to Massachusetts, and my movers are coming on Tuesday. While I can't necessarily recommend them since they haven't moved me yet, I can tell you I signed with Suddath United out of Deerfield Beach. I was impressed with the in-house estimate (thorough)...

Re: I've signed an agreement with a South Florida mover

Diane, After A-1 came in first for its estimate, I thought it would be tough to beat. But Suddath gave me a Binding/Not to Exceed estimate (A-1 provided a regular binding estimate), which I really liked. Also, my one major concern is "No hassles on moving day". I felt better overall with Suddath, ev...

I've signed an agreement with a South Florida mover

After nearly signing with a Movingscam.com "Black List" mover (I found this site just in time), I've finally signed with a moving company to help with my move from South Florida to Massachusetts. I did extra research, read many articles from this site, and read mutliple posting on this forum, all of...

Re: Question regarding estimates

Michael, That's what made me a little nervous with the rather large difference in weight estimates. If I went with the 3200# estimate and the load is actually closer to 4000#s, couldn't that cause an issue with the driver? That's 25% more than what was estimated. Also, in looking over the estimates,...

Re: How movers calculate estimates by weight?

Rooke - Just a heads up that I'm in the process of moving at the end of August (FL to MA) and I had two moving company reps. from national firms come for an in-house estimate. One estimated 3200#s and the other estimated 4000#s - in my mind, that's a big difference. Even the professionals don't alwa...

Re: Question regarding estimates

Thanks for the tip about getting the first estimate at 4000#s...that will give me a better comparison. If it gets really close to the other estimate (which I expect it will), I'll probably end up going with the second one. Both company reps. were very knowledgable and professional, but if all else i...

Question regarding estimates

I'm looking for advice regarding two in-house estimates I received this week for my move from South Florida to Massachusetts. * The first was a Binding estimate, 3200#s, $2,600 * The second was a Binding/Not to Exceed estimate, 4000#, $3,000. Both estimates include FVP insurance ($500 deductible) an...

Re: Questions about move from S. FL to MA

I'm looking at: * A-1 Moving & Storage out of Jupiter, FL - I liked not only the positive review, but also that a representative introduced himself on this website, provided info about the company and welcomed any questions. * Bohrens out of West Palm Beach, FL - mentioned in past posts, but hav...

Re: Questions about move from S. FL to MA

Diane - The 3 companies that are providing in-house estimates are agents for large, well-known carriers (2 of which are agents for the same carrier, which I didn't realize until after I made the appointments). Would it be OK to list them by name at this point? 2 of them were given positive notices i...

Questions about move from S. FL to MA

Last week, I posted my experience about nearly hiring a scam moving company with my move from South Florida to Massachusetts. Thankfully, I found this site prior to hiring them. On Tuesday, I begin my new search for a quality South Florida mover and I would like your opinion on something. Whichever ...

Hi everyone! My name is Mike and I have been looking for a full-service mover to help me move from South Florida to Massachusetts. I thought I did my homework, but after finding this site, I realized I didn't do nearly enough. Thank goodness I found you before I decided on a mover, as I definitely w...
