Re: The Rise and Fall of the Professional Mover, by Archie White

...the account didn't want to deal with the moving company personnel - they wanted all the details handled for them by the third party company. One-stop shopping and no worries, was the way the account saw it. Same argument some folks make about insisting on single source responsibility from your c...

Re: Broadway Express Move Gone Way Bad

This past sumer I was in columbia sc. on route to the local agent to pick up a shipment. On one of the entrances to the industrial park you cross a pretty steep rail road crossing that belly boxes have a pretty good chance of hanging up on. Well another driver came in in the middle of the night the ...

Re: Post 30 Day billing vs bill of lading

Speaking from a shippers point of view, how is one supposed to know those simple numbers on the weight ticket indicate times? Our weight tickets indicate time specifically so that anyone can see and know what time they were given. These particular weight tickets, if those are in fact times, only st...

Re: Post 30 Day billing vs bill of lading

Its only $1 for a reweigh. Like if you are a freight hauler and need to slide tandems to get legal and recheck. No need for that with moving cause there aint nothing to adjust. I see where the time is stamped now, all these years and i never caught that. Its in military time, now find waldo.

Re: Post 30 Day billing vs bill of laiding.

The steer and drive axels will be lighter if the shipment is loaded to the rear of the trailer tandems. I have a stack of cat scale tickets here and none of them have a time stamp. The problem is that you can't get your light weight that far from residence unless there is no scale near there, and th...

Re: **Moover's Inc.

Now I think your a little "thick". $300 and hour? Simply not even close. So the Estimator should travel to and from residence for free? In a free vehicle? I guess if he or she walked there and only used a pen and paper to do the estimate you would be correct in thinking $100 is steep. Most actually ...

Re: Moover's Inc.

Your a funny guy!!! $100 for a 20 min walk thru? How did they get there? How long did that take? You think the computers they use to do the estimates are free? I guess they could use the old cube sheets and do it by hand, but it may take longer than 20 min's. That $100 is cheap considering all costs...

Re: Moover's Inc.

Kind of a simmilar deal, but my freind owns a auto body repair shop. When someone comes in for an estimate, and through decades of experiance he can tell they won't be fixing the car there or at all he just wont do it anymore. People will come in for the estimate just to get the check from the insur...
