Re: Rainier Overseas Movers Review

That sounds about as honest as you can get! Thank you for the review and good luck getting your stuff on Monday. Hopefully David can read this and learn about communication as this may help him with future reviews!

Re: mving from US to Canada with Mayflower vs. NAVL?

Both of those Van Lines have their own Canadian teams that assist with your shipment. Your sales rep should be able to direct you to them if you have specific questions pertaining to customs and clearance.

I would feel comfortable using either one of them.

Re: Moving from Tucson AZ to Eugene OR

Lucy, Please disregard the ill-bred comments above. You are in the right place and hopefully we can assist in your decision making process. Archie's advice gets you pointed in the right direction. I would also add that visiting some of these agents in your area will give you a better sense of their ...

Re: Need advice on moving from a storage unit in Ohio

It sounds as if you have between 2100 - 2600#.

Just realized you are moving to Brooklyn, NY.

You should be able to get a real good ballpark price from movers with these weights.

Re: Need advice on moving from a storage unit in Ohio

Audley,

What size Unit do you have the items stored in?

How dense is the unit packed?

What city in SE Ohio are the items located?

We should be able to get you an estimate of the weight from this information and be able to run the mileage for you.

Re: I'm too scared to move now!

Obviously you haven't read all of the posts here. There are about 2% scam movers and 98% honest movers. There are also posts that help with non traditional movers such as ABF and BE. Rental truck companies are also topics. Throwing all your stuff away and buying new is an option, but not one normall...

Re: Mattress Advice

You have already stated that you can go to the mover's warehouse, pick up and pay for the cartons and pack them yourself, thereby saving money. The carrier has given you that option. My original question remains unanswered: Why does the price of the carton triple when the truck that was coming here...

Yeah, But look at all you had to do to threaten them before they finally came through and made you whole! What if you would have rolled over and took it? I can imagine what that outcome would have been. It must have been www.nomovex.com that shook things up for you. Glad to hear you are now satisfie...

I really feel for you.

It sounds like they have belt tied around your nads and kept tightening it until you removed your post or said something positive about their company.

Thats the way these scammers operate.

Re: Help needed - movers in cleveland

I used to work in the Cleveland market and only one name sounds familiar, Berger Allied. They are a reputable company. A few other good local companies that you could get estimates from are Shamrock Mayflower and Andrews United. I believe the average rate for 2 men and a truck in Cleveland for a loc...

Re: Moving company demanding more money 1 year later?!!

.....The moving company is Suddath which I believe is an agent for United (not sure how that all works?) The company talks a good talk up front but after my estimate I have had nothing but problems and broken promises. I guess thats a familiar story. I can't believe how bad this industry is! .........

Ed,

Can you please let me know what tariff you are using for this move and how you came up with the flat $750 price?

I am also interested to know where you got $.65/lb coverage?

Re: Report on my move

Since this was a local move and you mentioned the move taking 15 minutes less than the estimate, I assume you were billed hourly. If you only had two men instead of three, your hourly rate should have been about $35 less than your quote. But you said you still paid the estimated price. I am concerne...

Re: Was I scammed? Read for details

Scammed would not be the proper term for this type of situation. Miscommunication sounds more like what happened. You adding a DR table, chairs, bike, and grill should have alerted the sales rep that the cost should be more. The simple way out is to just say "Oh that's fine, we will take it". What h...
