Re: Deposits

Yeah most of the majors here in Chicago are the same way with a small 5 or 10% deposit.

Re: Deposits

Most reputable movers do not ask for any sort of deposit. A few do, but it's usually a smaller amount like 5 or 10%. What companies are you thinking about using? How did you find them?

Re: A note on International Shipping for 2008

As I said above, I am merely giving averages. Obviously it is on a case by case scenario, but this is to help people out that think they will see their items in 2 weeks, when it would be more like 8 weeks.

Although the project does sound quite intriging to do now :)

Re: A note on International Shipping for 2008

Hardatwork, I understand the confusion. I was sort of answering a few different questions from earlier threads with people having issues with delivery times. The averages I listed were for port to port/door. I agree that the delivery time can vary depending on where in the US things are coming from....

Re: peak vanline the best company ever!!!

Going to Evanston Century 12 for Iron Man? Maybe I'll see you there if you are. Was thinking about going there.

I was also wondering why this was on the International Boards.

A note on International Shipping for 2008

Just a note for all those who wanted to know about shipping times from the US to various locales. With the current season of 2008 and the hefty rate of the Euro and the current value of the US dollar, containers are going out to other countries and not as many are coming back to the US so there is a...

Re: How to Pay a Sales Rep

I know from a few different jobs that what has worked best for me as a sales rep is a base salary, starting at maybe $10 per hour ($400 per week) and then commission ranging between 2-5% on every move. Bonuses for making sales goals $50 - 100 for each goal made a month, based on year figures would a...

Re: Confused about 3rd party insurance

Okay....to chime in the Illinois side of things in terms of insurance and binding estimates. I think someone above asked why many movers in Chicago don't carry their own valuation or insurance. The main reason is money. For most valuation policies to be acceptable to customers, the money spent in to...

If she can't pay, she can't pay. Ask her for the shipping fee to send the wheelchair and then you'll send it. If she refuses to pay it, then don't send it.

Re: Moving in two weeks need info fast getting nervous

Phoenix- just wanted to let you know, as a fellow competitor of Sasha in Chicago, they have a terrible reputation amongst movers in Chicago. And that's saying something since they have only been in business for about 3 years and we have soe awful movers in this city.
