Re: Looking for ABF type service for a move in CA, less than 200 miles

Just wanted to report in that Don gave me a nice quote, but our timing did not work out. I was not sure when our move was taking place when I initially spoke with him. We are going with Sullivan, the United Van Lines outfit here. Dave Young, Sullivan Rep, came over and gave us a binding not to excee...

*Move From Northern San Diego County to Ojai Area

Hi Everyone, Thinking of moving from northern san diego county to santa barbara county. Called STS. Spoke with Don. Got a good quote and a good vibe. Called ABF - kind of high based on the short distance. Wondering if there is an ABF like service that handles intrastate moves in California Thanks in...

I used Sullivan out of Vista for a local move and was really happy with the result.

Excellent Review For Sullivan Moving & Storage in San Diego County

We moved locally this week in Northern San Diego County and after much research here, as always before a move, we chose Sullivan Moving & Storage. They did an excellent job from start to finish. We called the Vista location as we are in the North part of the county. I spoke with a woman who took...

Re: Moving From Northern California to San Diego Area

What I like about Corrib is that every time I have spoken with "them", I have spoken with Kevin (the owner) directly. That's not surprising, though, since according to the BBB listing, there are only 2 employees. The Yelp reviews mention only Kevin and Darren. I'm not particularly pushing Moovers, ...

Re: Moving From Northern California to San Diego Area

Thanks, Diane.

I did that research, but thanks for confirming what I found out.

What I like about Corrib is that every time I have spoken with "them", I have spoken with Kevin (the owner) directly.

I also feel good about Moovers.

Re: Moving From Northern California to San Diego Area

So, the estimate thing is a bit frustrating at this point. Moovers estimated the weight at 8300# based on their self-inventory form that we filled out. Anthony at Moovers (who did the estimate) thinks that number is high. I do as well. So, he gave me a range. 6000# - $2400 8300# - $3400 Delancey Str...

Re: Move from Chicago to SFO

I think I read a post here that they are a freight moving company and hence will not do the loading / unloading? Is that true? I used Broadway Express when I made that same move (chicago to san fran area) two and a half years ago. It went great. That is true. We hired movers on either end to do the...

Re: Moving From Northern California to San Diego Area

They don't use a trailer.

Redwood uses a 20-30' truck. Load it up, send it down. I think that is why they have the minimum.

Re: Moving From Northern California to San Diego Area

So, I am filling out Moovers, inc estimate form and it is all in cubic feet. Okay, I know they estimate by weight. He told me that on the phone. The form just seems so inadequate. Per our goods adding up. I know we have about 6000# because that is what was estimated by a number of different moving c...
