Depending on the weight of your shipment, you may be entitled to some compensation such as hotel, meals, etc.

Re: Alternatives for smallers shipments?
No "link" per se. Shipper just has to contact any Allied Agent & ask about the "Allied Express Shipment".

Re: Alternatives for smallers shipments?
Sure. My van lines offers "containerization" of shipments up to 4,000#. Origin Agent picks up & crates the shipment. Van Lines contracts with a common carrier to take the crates to the destination Agent for final delivery to the residence. Works pretty well.

Re: Has anyone used Olympic Moving & Storage in Skokie, IL?
Sounds like the start of a scam! Go to the Yellow Pages & select 3 major van lines like Allied, United, Bekins to come to your house & do a walk through to see exactly what has to be packed & moved. They will then produce a written Estimate, either binding or not to exceed. Only then can...

Re: In Need of Scam help
I wouldn't let them load any of your items under any circumstances! If you can't get your $2200.00 back, consider that your "education". Then, after it calms down, call 3 Agents of major van lines like Allied, North American, Mayflower, or United to come to your house & do an actual wa...

Re: Moving from storage facility, Dallas to Seattle
Contact any 2 or 3 of the major van lines to go to your stg unit & actually see what's being moved. Only then can they give you a "reasonable" estimate. You will probably only get an estimate & not a binding estimate because they can't actually see all the items. They can email you...

Re: Payment when truck is loaded?
Typically we get all the credit card info. at or prior to loading. We then run the card while the truck is enroute. The reasoning is that if the driver gets to destination & then we run the card & the card is declined, for whatever reason, the customer may be faced with a storage situation b...

Re: Advance payment for long distance move
I typically get a deposit for the crating that I have to do for a move. In other words, what would happen if I went out bought the lumber, built the crates & then the shipper cancelled the move? The crates have already been built & the chances of using them on another move are "slim to ...

Re: Maximum Value Replacement insurance definition?
That's they way I sell "Full Value Replacement Coverage". The van line has the option to repair the item(s) to the condition they were before transportation, or replace the item(s) with like item(s) @ today's value, subject to your deductible. I'm an Allied Agent & I don't understand N...
