Re: Auto Transport Reviews (see p. 31 for companies we endorse)

Hello everyone! I'm back.. and moving back to the west coast. My company is paying for my household goods shipment but I wasn't planning on moving the cars so I traded the shipment for other services. I was planning on selling my car here in NJ and buying something when I got out to CA... but I got ...

Re: Why BE?

I used BE 5 years ago to move from San Jose, CA to NJ. My move cost me $1,500. I packed everything myself and paid the guy something like $30 an hour to help load everything. The driver arrived on-time and nothing was damaged. I would totally use them again for a long haul move. There has to be some...

Booked with All Star Moving NJ to NYC

Hello All, My dad is moving and mentioned to me that he got a moving company to move his stuff. He tells me they quoted him $600 for the entire move. After asking my dad a few questions it became apparant that he might be on his way to being scammed. They did not do any estimate and didn't give him ...

Re: Auto Transporters

This is totally unrelated but it's been a few months since I stopped by here... I cannot believe the popularity of this thread and that it's a sticky on this board.

I hope I helped a few people since I have gotten nothing but help from everyone else!!!!

Re: Is this website affiliated/run by a specific moving comp

Nope... Tim is an independent person running this on his own to help others out of the kindness of his own heart!!!! The History of MovingScam I founded MovingScam.com in 2001 after I was scammed by America's Best Movers and decided to fight back (see " The True Story "). Others joined me, and toget...

Re: A special thank you

I think your comment about BE feeling like "friends" are moving you were right on track. Thats exactly how I felt from the moment we picked up the phone. I hope each of you come back here and post your experiences like I have done... I can't seem to keep myself from this website a month after my mov...

Re: Auto Transporters

So I just got a sample quote to see the insurance info. There is a $100 deductible per claim and the insurance itself cost $119. So you essentially need to sustain at least $219 worth of damage to make the insurance worthwhile. You should check with your own insurance to see if comprehensive claims ...

Re: Auto Transporters

I declined insurance and had zero damage with DAS . Also one thing with their insurance is that you pay for the insurance then you have a deductible with them. I believe it comes out to $250 or so. Their max liability if you waive the insurance is $250. The way I see it is that DAS will cover your o...

Re: Baker International

It would be great if you post your experience with them here in this thread. This would help out others like yourself. Not everyone who visits this site posts on these boards. Alot of people do a search, get the info they need, and disappear just a quietly as they arrived. It's for these people that...

Re: disabled child and moving

I suggest shipping it in a single load and renting the medical supplies from a local medical supply shop. They can deliver and set up practically anything you need.

You will probably save money doing this than having 2 different moves.

Re: help with changes - disabled child

How much medical equipment is there? If it's not too much you may want to ship those via UPS or FedEx. Or are you expecting to have the moving van follow you while you drive across country and you think you may be able to flag them down and access the medical equipment. If that's your goal you might...

Re: A Across USA Auto Transport

I myself was worried with DAS's low price. I did however cut corners to get the price that I did. I waived the insurance $100 discount (elected to lower my comprehensive deductible to zero on my auto insurance for $40 a year extra), I chose terminal to terminal $300 discount (I had rides on both end...

Re: Auto Transporters

yes that was me... I don't know why I don't stay logged in... I have the option checked. As far as KR-s9's statement of DAS not allowing COD this was untrue for my move. They took COD and even accepted credit card at the terminal. They may not do COD for door-to-door since it has been stated that th...

Re: Broadway Express questions

The only thing that would concern me would be BE's minimum length requirement. If you had overflow and they are going to send another truck wouldnt you need to pay for an additional 10 feet? I cant see it work for them economically to send a driver out to you for 1 or 2 feet. Especially if they cann...
