Re: Orlando to Houston... Suddath-United Vs. Coleman-Allied
Archie, Suddath has one location in Tennessee, but it is in Nashville. Looks like CFB is posting from Paris, TN, and unfortunately the nearest United agent is over 100 miles away. I see one Mayflower agent in Clarksville. p.s. I'm not trying to push Unigroup everyone... Just have those agency books...

Re: **Important information regarding ABF U-Pack 4/28/2011**
that's a question to ask the parties involved. I don't see how the shipper would be liable if he/she didn't arrange the labor. Well I think that if the shipper pays the load help direct--that the shipper could be held liable for work-related injury. Arrange and pay are 2 separate considerations. Ho...

It absolutley is great advice to book early, but I'd hate to lull anyone into a false sense of security.

Re: Undercover Boss- United Van Lines
I would like to think Andrew watched the show and saw how he acted versus the others and changed his attitude, but he probably just quit when he got back home. The show was pretty good, considering that there's no way to get across how much work is involved in packing and loading a house. Movers kno...

Re: Moving from NYC to Texas
As long as everyone is throwing in their 2 cents worth of experience I'll add mine too. In my 23 years experience, it did not matter how long the shipment had been booked... if the load day came and there was no driver assignment I did an agent pickup and held the shipment. Sometimes it took days an...

Re: **Final Report on Nelson Westerberg (Atlas) Move from Chicago to Seattl
My favorite overflow is the one that weights more than the main portion of the shipment. About a month ago we had a driver load all the cartons , washer, dryer, sofa and loveseat and left the rest.

Re: **Final Report on Nelson Westerberg (Atlas) Move from Chicago to Seattl
Our van lines used to have a driver that was a world class lunatic. One night he insisted he was "gonna get it all" so I loaded two lift vans long ways-side by side on the tailgate and laid one down on top of those. Meanwhile he' stuffing a 6 piece patio set in the windscoop of his tractor and hangi...

Graham, please clarify. Do you WANT your things delivered to two different places (like an apartment and a mini-storage).

Re: Please explain how military shipments might affect a civilian's move?
The way I read it, the service member would enter the particulars of the move and that info would go to some website where carriers would bid to do the job. Kind of an ebay for moves. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. I HOPE I'm wrong because that sounds like a bigger mess that we have going ...

Re: For the Pros, how's DP3 working for you?
Two additional ideas to kick around 1) How much are claims going to increase due to customers being mad and inconvienced (the "somebody's gonna pay" theory). 2) How many carriers are going to be bankrupt after this DP3 fiasco? Just got off the phone with a CW3 whose shipment is in my warehouse 2 day...

Re: For the Pros, how's DP3 working for you?
At my base, if you need to move within the next 21 days you're supposed to get booked in TOPPS, past that, it's still DPS.
