Re: 1 GNTE significantly lower - should I be worried?

1. Rainbow may not be missing anything, perhaps they used a lower wt factor like a 6.5 (or lower) vs a 7.0. If you have 1000 cu ft. Rainbow would be at 6500 pounds vs 7000 pounds. I know a United agent in this area whose sales rep knowing lowers her weight factor because she knows she has a 10% fact...

Re: Allied - Guaranteed price, can they charge more?

No it doesnt cost anything. You can ask if you had a GRR what would the rate be that you would save be hundred pounds, should your weight be less. Again, you could be only saving $10-$45/hundred? Not exactly sure, depends where your at. So lets say its $10 per hundred, your weight would have to come...

No, your not saving tons of money one way or another. I would make sure your have looked at his inventory, didnt miss anything and your comfortable with what he estimated you are shipping. Graebel isnt a scammer, you should be just fine.

Re: What doesn't make sense to ship?

Your nickle and diming yourself. In the grand scheme of things, to not take a washer and dryer in a 10,000 pound move, saves you nothing. It will still cost more to buy a new set then ship them. If your going from 10,000 pounds to 5000 pounds then that may save you something. Not thousands and thous...

Re: Allied - Guaranteed price, can they charge more?

If any of my crews expect or request or demanded a tip, they would be let go. They get paid for their job. Now with that said, what I tell customers, IF you tip, tip individually. Do not give it to the driver and expect him to divide it equally. Sometimes you get one person that stands out more then...

I would not think Suddath would ask for a deposit. Most majors do not.

Re: Allied - Guaranteed price, can they charge more?

chbh, If you have a total price guarantee, then no, you will not get any money back. If you have a GRR then yes you could get money back if your move weight came in less. No they cannot charge you for more at time of delivery unless your goods required storage, you request an extra delivery or reque...

Re: Need help in choosing the Moving Company

Suddath is a United Van Lines agent. One of Uniteds largest agents. If they are accepting your appointment they must have plans to self haul it if booked.

Re: Need help in choosing the Moving Company

Biggest thing is if they are taking moves for that time frame. United has been closed for moves in June since middle of May (unless self hauled). Graebel does not have any cut offs that I am aware of. Both are good companies if they can help.

Wow a discount..... this stuff cracks me up. You know Jeff, years ago, when I was so naive and Tim helped me out, I thought surely 10 years from then, things would be somewhat different, and you know what, they arent.
