Re: urgently need advice on last-minute move

Has anyone considered that the shipper called late in the game, after being quoted, to set up her move, by such time the calendar has changed in the system and then the NAVL agent advised of the added cost? I doubt NAVL just threw it in there without advising this shipper. Shipper dragged ass in mak...

Scams on the rise???

As we approach our peak season, many of us have seen it for the last few weeks, I am going to go out on a limb here and say scams and scam companies will be reaping the benefits of the legit movers unable to perform the business. Many companies like Allied, North American, United, Mayflower and the ...

Re: Easy way to protect yourself on all those LOWBALL quotes

Miami, of course you can always recommend them here. I just lost a truckload 26,000 pounds to CA from NC to Budget Van Lines. We moved the guy a year ago, loved our company, but you know what, he wants to go in the peak season, rates have increased and his cost did too from last year, no kidding. So...

Re: Allied Shipping by Air Freight?

Yes its legit. Its called Allied Express. In my humble opinion, small moves are the biggest pain in the ass . Especially in the summer time. Customers want it loaded in one day and delivered the next. They think all movers just have trucks going to their locations all the time, so just throw it on t...

Re: Binding vs unbinding estimate- am I being scammed

Atlas may have a minimum of 2100 pounds as well, thus the Binding Quote. So check and see if they have a minimum weight. If that is their minimum weight then binding is fine. A not to exceed wont matter then.

Re: How much of this was "sales pitch"?

Why is it so hard for a driver to call in the weight and actuals, have it rated before delivery and advise the customer that a new lower amount is due. Its not.

Re: How much of this was "sales pitch"?

Twixt, I have been doing this 20 years and I am still not a pro. Drivers can protest for any reason. If there are item...
