Re: Horizon Moving Systems in AZ

Sean: This is an answer to a very old post of yours. No it is not true. Horizon Moving System's is alive and well. Vista Moving and Storage is also part of the Family here in Yuma AZ. Bruce Dusenberry is still the owner and part owner of Vista along with Bill Brandon who used to be a driver for Hori...

Re: Atlanta, GA to Miami, FL - upcoming move - suggestions?

Wow! It would mean you have around 32000 lbs of belongings to pack and load. I think you will find that the price will change significantly with the other in home estimate you are getting. I did a move from CA to TX that did not have that much which was a bigger home and 2 barns with wood working eq...

Re: Atlanta, GA to Miami, FL - upcoming move - suggestions?

Thanks Archie for that Clarification, I guess I'll learn a little of the sense of humor here also. All of those jobs were all referrals anyway from many avenues. I don't hunt for them on the internet since it would be a waste of time for the most part
Have a great day!

Re: Atlanta, GA to Miami, FL - upcoming move - suggestions?

Archie: Seriously now. I have never taken another agents job from them doing a survey. We would as a company benefit from the move either in part or in whole. The estimator/consultant is paid to do the survey. The company that is local also is paid, and the booking agent is paid as well. If you and ...

Re: Atlanta, GA to Miami, FL - upcoming move - suggestions?

That is what's nice when you use a national company. Some independents also have working relationships with other independents. I work wit...

Re: How to get an accurate estimate

Bill: Great advice. 1. I would also suggest to them that they get a Bound Do Not Exceed estimate. The good companies will give you one and also it ensures that you will not pay more at the other end but can pay less. 2. Never pay anything up-front! 3. Use the 10 lbs bag of flour to guage if you are ...

Re: Question for other moving company owners

One of the first things to get good help is offer good working conditions. If you have people who have been working with you for a while offer them incentives to recruit others to work with you. They are your best advertisement and also your best reference for the job. Pay the recruiter initially an...
