Re: Budget 24' vs Penske 26' for 1way move from Raleigh NC to LA?

When we need extra trucks here in Phoenix I like Budget trucks better just because of the inside height being a bit taller. I have never had a single problem with budget trucks although I do hear Penske is more reliable. For the 24-26ft trucks I believe they are all diesel now. Not only is diesel ch...

Re: for the pros

MM, I know I have been saying for over a year now that I am going to do interstate and I finally did. As of 10 days from now I will be doing LD to/from Phoenix, probably only CA, and Las vegas though to start. Thanks for the common/contract info!

Re: for the pros

I kind of assumed that it had something to do with contracting with only certain companies. Thanks Archie!

for the pros

I am filling out the application for MC operating authority and am stuck on a question. I am not 100% sure of which one applies. I am looking at one box saying "motor common carrier" and one that says "motor contract carrier." I am not sure which one applies. I think it is common but am not positive...

Re: Local Northern Virginia Move ?

That last good post reads just like an advertisement to me. I have never once seen a customer talk like this about a company on here. Maybe there employees/owner shouldn't make it so obvious. =)

Re: Moving from OC to Atlanta

haulbikes.com (I don't know the company name, just the website)

I see there trucks here in Phoenix once in a while and I know there were a few comments here on them. Don't know anything first hand about them except they seem to have nice trucks.

$.32/lb seems awfully low to me. Where are you moving to?

Re: Tips for pulling car trailer with Penske Truck

If you don't have experience driving trailers, especially with a box truck, I wouldn't recommend it. Winter roads, city driving, and not a large enough vehicle to stop the trailer quickly if needed. I don't believe that the uhaul car trailers have brakes (correct me if I am wrong) so I would leave i...

Re: Arizona to Los Angeles move - need recommendation

The state of Arizona does not require any mover to have a DOT license so long as they are only doing business in the state of AZ. Most movers in AZ only have the city tax license (not required either unless you sell supplies, labor is not taxable).

Re: Arizona to Los Angeles move - need recommendation

I am a local mover in Phoenix. I am not licensed for interstate but have heard good things about Camelback moving. Might be cheaper then the bigger guys but I believe they only have 2 trucks, meaning they might be limited to certain times to take interstate moves. Check their licensing though and as...

Re: Moving from Los Angeles to Seattle

I would just simply, however, warn the person that they should definitely have other movers "in the mix" and to not tell the other potential movers.. "okay I got a definite mover, I don't need you". Am I reading this wrong or is she suggesting that you should book with several movers and then choos...

I live in Phoenix and see the haulbikes.com trucks fairly often. Really nice trucks from the outside.

Re: Local Atlanta Move / Questions / Mark the Mover

We use the forearm forklift for EVERYTHING heavy. They are the best invention for movers ever. We use them for pianos, big screen TV's, dressers, king sized mattresses, etc. I even saw a delivery company using them to carry appliances upstairs to an apartment. I don't like them for stairs as they pu...
