Re: Moving Scam: Scammed by the Mover or scammed by yourself

Being an educated mover myself, I find most of "A Movers'" remarks ignorant.

You came to this site because your company was being accused of wrong doing. The least you can do is post the name of your company so we can see if you are even legit or not.

Re: Do movers view corporate moves differently than househol

I don't know about a Class 1 driver, but a Class A driver simply means he has passed 3 tests (written, driving, & manueverability) to achieve his/her license. Most truck drivers go to school for this but you don't have to. I was moving trucks around in the lot since I was about 14, so I just wen...

I have used both Aaction and Puliz. I would recommend Puliz first because they always seemed to go the extra mile for me.

Re: Do movers view corporate moves differently than househol

Isn't it a law that a Class A license is required to operate tractor trailers? I don't see that as a sales pitch, it is industry standard. You are correct. Diane needs to read up on this subject. You cand find more info on this topic at BMV. I have my Class A and it wasn't very difficult to get.

Lee,

The same company offering to move you out of state for a flat rate??

I guess you have a bound estimate. If it were me, I would want a not to exceed, that way if my weight was less, I would pay less.

Re: The busy season is upon us!

First of all United rep from large agency, i comes before e except after C! Secondly, before you go blabbing out your snort, spend a few days and realize what kind of help we do provide here. Moving yourself is by far the safest way to move and that is what we support. If a consumer cannot do that, ...

Re: Is a FLAT RATE based on TRUCK SIZE a good idea, or a sca

Yes,

For interstate move, moving companies should have a tariff on file with their rates. 99% of companies use weight and mileage as the factor to determine cost.

How come you can't rent a truck this time like you have in the past? That would be the safest thing to do.

Charm,

An interstate move needs to be based on weight and mileage period

Any other types of estimates need to be thrown out. You should also have each company visit your house and do an in home inventory.

Re: Is it safe to use Global Direct Shipping?

Global Direct's quotes are low. Incorrectly blackballing them would waste people's money.

Ummm, not wasting any of my money!

You obviously have something to do with this organization. Please explain what exactly it is that you do for them.

Re: Need help comparing estimates from Chicago to NYC

Geepers,

I have just never had a good feeling about Mosihes.

There are sooo many great movers in the Chicago area, I would keep looking.

If you can do the drive by, great! I would like to know what kind of facility they operate in.
