Re: ALERT - avoid Zip to Zip Van Lines in Florida and Leeway

I can almost smell a scammer that has been bashed here trying to put the blame on us!

The facts are the facts, take them as you wish.

Re: Nervous in Wisconsin!

Bonnie, Just by looking at Summit Lake in a map book, I really wouldn't invest too heavily in a moving company in that area because there probably isn't a large amount of moves. Wausau looks close enough and big enough to service your area. I would also look for other movers in that city if I were y...

Re: oz moving nyc - anyone use it?

Most of the information you read on this site pertains to Interstate Moves, yours is a local move, which means different rules.

Get a few more estimates and see how you feel after that. And yes, binding estimates are not the normal on local moves. I would be suspicious about it.

Peace!

Re: oz moving nyc - anyone use it?

Guest,

That would seem a little suspicious to me. Local moves are almost never binding due to the fact that they are done by the hour and too many things like elevator delays, traffic, etc. come into play.

I would get a few more estimates if I were you.

Later!

Re: Nervous in Wisconsin!

Bonnie, I would suggest you call 800-568-0032 and ask to speak to a customer service rep. that handles residential moves. This is Graebel Van Lines and I was told by their corporate office that they can do an in home estimate for you. (They have an office in Wausau) Don't worry yet, you still have p...

Re: Nervous in Wisconsin!

I was gonna look for a mover for you, but couldn't even find Summit Lake, WI in my Atlas.

What City is it close to?

Nevermind, I found it. I will let you know.

Re: ABF U-Pack Moving

I believe with ABF, they require the customer to build their own bulkhead. I think they provide it, but still the customers responsibility to install it. I didn't think ABF put more than one household shipment per trailer, instead used the extra footage to fill out with freight. Other companies that...

Re: WAS NMN NOW WESTERN RELOCATION AKA PAUL ARPIN VAN LINES

Pscam, Now you are right on track. I don't doubt that Arpin is a repuatble company, but when you do it over the phone, there is just too much room for error. Have them come out no matter how small the load is and let them give you their own proffessional opinion on how much weight you have. Thanks f...

Re: WAS NMN NOW WESTERN RELOCATION AKA PAUL ARPIN VAN LINES

I don't think their competence is being questioned here. This morning Pscam had a signed contract with NMN. Now he wants to use a company that he 1) found on movedirect.net which we all know sells to any mover that will pay for the lead, and 2) has jumped to this conclusion without having estimators...

Re: WAS NMN NOW WESTERN RELOCATION AKA PAUL ARPIN VAN LINES

Pscam, I am not here to argue with you. If you feel comfortable with this company in whcih you found through the internet, go ahead and schedule. I know for a fact they have not come to your house to do an in home estimate which is a must. Like I said, use our resources, follow our advice, or move o...

Re: WAS NMN NOW WESTERN RELOCATION AKA PAUL ARPIN VAN LINES

Guy, Here's the problem that you are missing: Everywhere on this site you have people telling you not to post your information on the internet and let movers contact you. You are giving them 100% control. You need to take charge and follow our advice listed under "How to Find a Reputable Mover". If ...
