Re: RoadRunner moving for CA to MT

Generally speaking, you should follow this advice: 1. Do Your Research Take the time to walk through the steps mentioned in our article “How to Find a Reputable Moving Company”. 2. Get Three In-Home Estimates . In-home estimates are so important in getting an accurate quote, and is the first layer o...

Re: Moving out of house - Need storage

I have to agree with Chaz. This is a situation that could be described as a typical move rather than a specialty move. It's not uncommon for people to move within the city in which they are living. Hiring separate labor force from your mover will likely cost more than if you simply used the full-ser...

Re: GPS tracking device for the move

We've had an interest in this topic for a long time. As someone who has worked in an RF field, the biggest problem is trying to get a signal through the shell of a moving van. So far, I have yet to see a product that will allow a GPS signal reach a satellite. As far as I know all GPS devices require...

Re: RoadRunner moving for CA to MT

Hi Borcheski, Roadrunner is a great moving company, but they're based out of Avon MA, no CA. If you're working with another company with this name, I'd recommend great caution. There has been at least one company claiming to be Roadrunner Moving, but based in a different location and has a much wors...

Re: Moving from Austin, TX to Chandler, AZ

Hi Ellet, Joyce and Daryl Flood are both excellent choices and have a long history of great reviews here on MovingScam.com! I'm not familiar with Ward, but they belong to a Van Line (North American) and as such will give you a good move to the best of their ability. Van lines don't want unhappy cust...

Re: United Relocation Movers LLC

Hi Viktoria,
You can try to recoup your money, but past experience has shown that you'll spend more than what you'll get back in doing so. You might read our article "I've Been Scammed, What Now?" and see if that has any helpful information.

Re: Worcester, MA to Brooklyn, NYC

Hi aboxofcarrots, I think if you were to match up our (old) reviews with some of the newer sites such as Yelp, the BBB, etc, you'd find that companies like this don't change much. Companies that have a reputation work hard to keep those reputations. I think you're on the right track with your movers...

Re: Auto Transport Reviews (see p. 31 for companies we endorse)

In all fairness, ProStar recently went through a sale, but is still owned by the same family. I'm sorry they didn't answer your phone call, but they were likely in transition at that point. I'm glad to hear your move went well. Golden Key Express was previously an endorsed mover here as well.

Re: International Van Lines.. Still Waiting

I would recommend the following steps: 1. First and foremost, contact Move Rescue immediately. They can help start the process of tracking down your stuff, helping you confront the fraudsters and, if you can find where your stuff is located, MoveRescue can help get a mover to complete your move. Tha...

Re: Moving from Milwaukee to philly, need help on finding a mover

There are plenty of moving companies on the left hand side of this page that have excellent reputations. Pick 3 and get quotes. My recommendation, given your location would be Joyce, Bayshore and Corrigan. Once you have the quotes in hand, if you have any questions, please come back at that time. Yo...

Re: Chicago to San Jose (CA) : Allied vs United

Both companies belong to Van Lines, so I don't think they're out to price gouge you in your move. Your move is also small, and so they're not going to make much off of it. I would ask each sales rep to break down their costs so that you can see what the difference is. It could be that labor costs ar...
