moving from AZ to CA

Postby tm27tt » Fri Jul 13, 2007 12:46 am

First of all Hi to all, I just found this forum. Wish I knew about this site the last time I moved.

Anyway from what I've read there seems to be a lot of good reviews for ABF and BE. So, I just put in a quote request for my move.

I have moved several times, the first my company relocation took care of everything so that was great. The second moved I used PODS it was OK and would have used them again but they dont service where I'm at. Then came my move to AZ which sadly I didn't do any research at all. So that was a pain. Hopefully my upcoming move would be a little bit easier than the last one.

Another thing, on the ABF site it was asking for a referral number.

If you go with ABF and want this website to get credit for your move in the form of a referral fee, the reference number to give them is 2149.

send me a PM if you have any questions about your move. I am a mover in Phoenix so I know a thing or two about the area.

Ok got quotes back from BE and ABF

BE
$2,593.00 for 28 ft

ABF
$795.00 +/- $15/ft for 21 ft

I read that theres a slight difference between the two but why the huge differrence in price? Thanks....

A lot of it's the spring ride trailers in ABF vs. the air-ride trailers of BE, plus BE keeps the equipment you need, the hand trucks and moving pads and such. Both are OK, if you're a good solid packer and nothing of yours is especially delicate. If you do have sensitive things, go for BE. If not, go with ABF and save some money. I used BE and had everything arrive in great shape, nothing even shifted.

Thanks for the reply. I don't really have anything sensitive, maybe a big screen TV but I once moved it from San Jose, CA to Riverside, CA in a
U-Haul and it was fine. This moved would be half that distance.
