Security Moving and Storage NJ and CT advice?

Postby Guest » Sat Jun 11, 2005 10:10 am

MC 490948
USDOT 1263876

Local move NTE = 1,000 including travel time.

If I am correct their DOT number reflects only 1 truck?????

-------------------------

They are based in NJ and have a local office in Fairfield, CT.

Guy seemed fine, covered in tattoos, but gave a good speech. At least he didn't look like a salesman.

They are a member of BBB, but I am concerned about the one truck thing. He did not say they did tons of moves and were a huge company, but i wonder???? I assume I should call about this...........

you are doing a local move within the state of NJ? have you ahd any other movers come to the house?

The company's name is actually A SECURITY MOVING & STORAGE. They do have only one truck, so your move had better be profitable to them.

I found two complaints on the Rip Off Report, which is not good for a company licensed just under one year.

http://www.badbusinessbureau.com/result ... archtype=0

One move they damaged a lot of items, demanded payment in cash before delivery, the truck was not big enough (keep this in mind if YOU have a three bedroom house and they only own one truck), and they made the customers sign a few less-than-legal documents. For he other move, they increased the price the m0orning of the move, but did not show up. Deposit was not refunded. Does this sound like the company you want taking control of your things?

We are doing a local move inside CT, but they are based in NJ with an office in CT apparently.

Do you know anything about this company. They quoted 875, but it was NOT a not to exceed estimate, just a plain non-binding.
