Help!
Help!
We recently relocated from California to Pennsylvania using a moving company called United Transportation Moving and Storage. I am not sure if we are being scammed but I feel like something shady is going on. We were provided a quote and moving day had to pay $400 more due to out things being over weight limit. We were also asked to pay $300 more to get our car delivered which we didn't but still got our car. Our things have been in storage for almost 3 months and we we're trying to arrange for our things to be delivered. We were informed our stuff was stored at a facility that had a fire and all our belongings have been destroyed. They referred us to file a claim with Anthem Claim Management. I have read nothing but bad about Anthem on this site and YELP. I have also read YELP reviews for the moving company we used and they either have 1 star horrible reviews or 5 star great reviews which is weird to me. Any information would be greatly appreciated as we are devastated by the loss of everything we own.

Re: Help!
I would recommend the following:
1. First and foremost, contact Move Rescue immediately. They can help start the process of tracking down your stuff, helping you confront the fraudsters and, if you can find where your stuff is located, MoveRescue can help get a mover to complete your move. That being said, I want to be up front with you and let you know that I have no statistics on the success of MoveRescue, and again am not guaranteeing this will succeed.
2. Read our article “I’ve Been Scammed! What now?” which will give you many options to try to attempt to get your belongings back.
3. File a complaint with the FMCSA as soon as possible. Make sure you include details such as conversations (including where you were directed for reviews) and what led you to believe you were working with a reputable company. Include as many details as possible right up to when they left with your belongings.
4. Keep detailed notes going forward, and write up exactly what has happened up to this point. Make sure you log calls, conversations and times and dates they occur. This will help you keep track of things in case you ever need to use them in court. In addition, I’d advise writing down everything that happened up to this point while its fresh in your memory.
Please keep us posted.

Re: Help!
This is why it is stressed on here to look at reviews before you have a company pick your belongings up. It is unfortunate that many people wait until something like this happens to look a company up and read reviews. I cannot stress enough to read reviews before you trust someone with your belongings

Re: Help!
actually Tdaily, you need to do a lot more than just read review. A lot of companies hire people to write reviews for them, and you end up looking through a bunch of fake reviews. really research your moving company, read our article "How to Find a Reputable Moving Company"
