S&K2000 cancelled an international move on moving day

S&K2000 cancelled an international move on moving day.

On moving day one person arrived, looked at our items to pack and ship internationally, said everything was fine, briefly used the bathroom, and walked out to get the packing materials. A few minutes later I got a call from his boss in the office, claiming the man had seen a cockroach in my house (I strongly doubt that to be true, and they didn't provide evidence), and therefore refused to touch, move, and ship any of my items. Note this was not told to me beforehand, and is not in any of the contracts.

Luckily another moving company was willing to ship all my items very lastminute (I was moving abroad and had to vacate the flat!), even picking up on Christmas Day, but because everything was so lastminute they charged double the price (I can't blame them).

S&K2000 left me in a completely messy and very stressful situation, and forcing me into much higher expenses. They claim they will refund me (I had already paid everything full upfront) but I haven't heard anything from them since. I was promised to be called back several times but this never happened. When I call them, the boss is 'in a meeting' and 'will call me back'. I haven't heard from them since moving day (two weeks ago).

Honestly I feel they just made up an excuse not to have to move my stuff. I only saw one person to pack & bring several heavy items down the stairs, never saw his colleague who was 'waiting downstairs', never saw a van or truck, didn't hear him flush a toilet, and strongly doubt he actually saw evidence of a cockroach.

On their website they suggest to be a member of the American Moving & Storage Association, but when you check with AMSA they are not actually registered there.

Don't use this company!
