I need to transport a car from San Francisco to Providence, RI. I have gotten quotes and there is such a big range (from 1000 to 1600). A United rep told me that they are actually merging with DAS in the near future. Is it then worth transporting with DAS (which gave me one of the lower quotes for terminal to terminal)? However, there are some bad reviews for DAS out there. I worry that Golden Key express won't be able to pick up our car in a reasonable time frame. Anyone heard of ALL American Auto transport in SF?

If the All American is the one at 800-886-7135 associated with a guy named Elliott, it's OK. It's a broker, but I asked the owner of Golden Key about them and he said that he himself sometimes hauls for them and Elliott knows all the companies he uses, unlike some brokers.

Here's an excellent review of Golden Key Express that just came in through the "Comments" section on this website. I removed the customer's identifying information and email address.

I'd use them again without reservation. Highly recommended.

I found both Golden Key and Broadway through Movingscam.com. Really appreciate your site!!!

You say you don't care about late delivery, but a much more common problem with very low quotes is that no hauler ever shows up to transport the car. I advise you to use one of MovingScam's endorsed companies if possible.

Be careful of a company that wants you pay for insurance while the vehicle is under their control. They have cargo insurance and that's what it's for..... Never use your peronal insurance to pay for their damage. Do use your personal insurance to light a fire under the carrier.

I am planning to move from Austin TX to Phoenix AZ. I got quote from Golden Key Express, DAS, ProStar and CF Transport.

CF Transport quote is low and I was wondering if anybody have any experience with them. Seems like they are broker. They are based in Louisiana.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the input

I choose to go with Golden Key Express from the reviews here.

Misty was good in handling the initial setup and driver Mike was equally good.
Car was pick up on Saturday afternoon from Austin TX and delievery to Phoenix, AZ on Monday morning.

Someone in Austin cancelled last minute pickup, so I got some discount to ship my car in the truck which was already dropping one car in Austin.
For me it was $650.

I know there have been some questions about Dependable (DAS), but I have to tell you that they did just fine for me. I had my car transported from the DC area to San Diego, and I opted to save myself a little money and go for the terminal to terminal option. It cost me $756.

I dropped my car off on the 26th of October, and was given an ETA of anywhere from November 4 to November 11. The process was pretty long, as they were documenting every single ding, nick, and scratch on the car. My car is a 12 year old car, so there were plenty of them. The drop off process took about 20 minutes.

It arrived here on November 2. I didn't have anyone to give me a ride to the terminal, which wasn't far away, until November 4, so I went and got it then.

When I arrived to pick up the car, they went and washed it for me to get the dust off the vehicle. They had me go over the car, and when I was done, they thanked me and I went on my way. The longest part of the pick up was waiting for the car to get washed. I was done in five minutes.

I wouldn't hesitate to use Dependable again.

Hello, have not seen any recent reviews for Coast to Coast Auto. Are they still endorsed my movingscam? This MB helped me alot a few years back when I got scammed and booked based on this site. Let me know.

This reveiw came in under the comments section of the site:

Ashwin wrote:I'm writing this review for Golden Key Express. But first, I must say that your web-site has been incredibly helpful in finding good movers (thanks !).
I am moving from CA to NJ and hunted around for auto-movers and got several quotes from the net before I came across your web-site and followed up with GKE . Although they quoted slightly higher than others, my experience has been nothing but positive. I hired them to move my car in Dec'2010. From the start, they were quick, responsive and also flexible in agreeing to change the pick-up date when I had to make last minute changes. The pick-up and drop-off were smooth and trouble-free and on-time. I would definitely recommend them to be used again.

They're still endorsed. Auto movers tend to be reviewed here somewhat less frequently than household movers.

I am moving across country from Wisconsin to Arizona and was wondering if anyone could recommend any auto transport companies besides the 3 listed on this site (Coast to Coast, Golden Key, and ProStar). The reason I ask is because Coast to Coast doesn't service Arizona and Golden Key doesn't service Wisconsin and I would like to compare a few other companies with ProStar. Thanks!

ProStar is a broker . . . another broker that I've heard good things about is All American at 800-886-7135 associated with a guy named Elliott. I asked the owner of Golden Key about them and he said that he himself sometimes hauls for them and Elliott knows all the companies he uses, unlike some brokers. (See my comment above.) Moovers Inc. also works with them and likes them.

I just looked at the Golden Key Express website and was impressed by how it has been redesigned. There are loads of rave reviews posted that have been sent in by customers, complete with detail that makes them not only impressive but absolutely believable - http://goldenkeyexpress.com/auto-transport/reviews.html People looking for an auto transporter might want to check out this page.
