MovingScam.com has decided to endorse the Michigan offices of Corrigan (United) because of the many favorable reviews and comments about those offices here and elsewhere. It’s Toledo OH, Chicago and Rochester NY locations have only a few reviews posted, but they also have good BBB ratings and internal quality scores from the van line, so MovingScam.com is endorsing them as well.

Corrigan offers a full suite of relocation services for residential and commercial customers alike. For residential moves, Corrigan provides local, long distance and international moving services, along with professional packing and storage options. Corrigan also offers commercial moving services for office and industrial facilities, as well as specialized transportation solutions for high value products, trade show exhibits and other special commodities. The company also partners with many corporate clients to facilitate their employee’s household relocations under a personalized price and service agreement. In all cases, Corrigan offers a single point of contact throughout the move to ensure clear communication, convenience and a positive relocation experience.
All Corrigan employees—from administration and operations to customer service and drivers—attend an extensive training program that ensures the team lives up to the level of craftsmanship the Corrigan name represents. Corrigan was honored with more awards for quality service and customer satisfaction at the 2012 UniGroup Annual Convention than any other United Van Lines agent. The Farmington Hills, Flint, Auburn Hills and Rochester locations were recognized with the Customer Choice Award, and the Chicago and Ann Arbor facilities received honorable mention in the same category. The Performance Excellence Award was given to the Chicago and Farmington Hills locations. Finally, the Flint operation was honored with the Fleet Safety Award, and the Farmington Hills headquarters received honorable mention in the same category.
At the 2013 United Van Lines convention, Corrigan won more awards than any other company, including 8 Customer Choice Awards, 3 Fleet Safety Awards, and 3 Performance Excellence Awards (for Claims & Quality) and most importantly Corrigan again was awarded the President’s Quality Award for being the “best of the best” agent in the entire United Van Lines system. In February of 2014, Corrigan was honored with the American Moving & Storage Association's 2013 Agent of the Year Award. This award is given to one company, across all van lines, who has demonstrated outstanding quality and customer service, and worked to improve the image of the moving industry as a whole.
This is Corrigan's Superlist listing under Michigan:
--Corrigan Moving Systems (United) in Farmington Hills (HQ), Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills, Bay City, Dearborn, Grand Rapids, and Kalamazoo. (Also locations in the Chicago, Toledo OH, and Rochester NY areas.)
A VERY GOOD PERFORMER with at least 5 good reviews and no significant bad reviews as an origin agent on this website. This company has the website http://www.corriganmoving.com and the phone numbers 513- 759-6000 or 800-543-4977.
Only the Farmington Hills, Bay City, and Grand Rapids-Kalamazoo locations are listed by the BBB. As of 11/10 the Farmington Hills and Grand Rapids-Kalamazoo locations had an A+ BBB rating with only a total of 4 BBB complaints in the past 36 months, all resolved or administratively closed (excellent for a company with 186 trucks that reportedly does more than 11,000 moves a year). As of 11/10 Corrigan had no complaints listed on http://www.protectyourmove.gov and four of its offices won 2010 Customer Choice Awards from United Van Lines for having the highest customer satisfaction rating among agents. The Bay City and Auburn Hills offices were winners and the Farmington Hills and Rochester NY offices were runnerups. In addition, the Novi office of Premier Relocations LLC, a Mayflower agency owned by Corrigan, was a 2010 Customer Choice Award winner.
In November 2010 a company representative told MovingScam that in the last 12 months, Corrigan as a whole handled 11,081 household shipments and had 638 claims, giving the company a claims ratio of 1 claim in 17 moves (5.8%). Although unverified, this is extremely low in an industry in which the AMSA has said that the average claims ratio is 1 out of 4 moves (25%). It may reflect the fact that Corrigan reportedly self-hauls 80% of its shipments using its own trucks. Corrigan had one complaint on RipoffReport many years ago, but this appears to have been an unintentional service failure and the General Manager, Nate Corrigan, came on that website to offer to make amends. Although Corrigan reportedly does only a small number of military moves, all of its warehouses are military-approved, a measure of quality.
Corrigan was highly recommended by "Michael," who worked for the Farmington Hills branch for 5 years. He felt they are better than Morse (Allied): viewtopic.php?p=21408#21408 Michael also commented that "they were United Van Lines very first winner of the prestigious President Quality Award, they have been in business since 1927 and are family owned, with 13 locations in Michigan, Ohio, and Chicago.": viewtopic.php?p=464#464
"ArchieWhite" (owns a Mayflower/United agency in Atlanta) posted in 6/07 that "Corrigan is one of United Van Lines' top agents. Paul Corrigan, the owner, is the chairman emeritus of United Van Lines/Mayflower, there is not a more honorable man in the world, much less moving world...": viewtopic.php?p=90224#90224
The company is still run by members of the Corrigan family.
"Witkacy" was impressed by the Ann Arbor branch and was set to move with them to KS but never came back to report:

"Newguyfrommi" ultimately decided to move himself to Indianapolis in a Penske van but praised the Ann Arbor branch highly for professionalism in the pre-move process: viewtopic.php?t=7995 (interstate)
"Eric" gave Corrigan a rave review for his move to Raleigh, NC, in 6/06. Even though his things had to be transferred from one trailer to another and there was minor damage, he said that the driver (Chris) was excellent. He also noted that Corrigan charged only half as much for boxes as his local U-Haul: viewtopic.php?t=8995 (interstate)
"dave_261" gave Corrigan an "8 out of 10" for his move to Raleigh, NC in 8/06. His move was booked through Consumers Relocation (AAA) by East End Moving in Rochester, NY, which is owned by Corrigan. Delivery was very fast and there was only very minor damage. The only glitch was that Dave wasn't notified of a firm pickup time until the afternoon of the day before his move: viewtopic.php?t=9596 (interstate)
"mi2kshop" posted that there was an overflow situation with his 8/06 move to the DC area so items had to be picked up later, and then the final bill was $1000 more than it should have been. However, Corrigan corrected the billing error. He gave the company a B-/C+ overall. However, Corrigan may have been just the booker and not the hauler, in which case the van line bears some responsibility for the problems:

"a2marina" gave Corrigan-Ann Arbor a rave review for her move to CA in 6/08 - "great customer service": viewtopic.php?t=16760 (booking agent for interstate move)
"A2socworker" posted very complimentary remarks about a Corrigan-Ann Arbor rep in 7/08. Although the rep knew that he wasn't going to get the move (to Chicago) because of shuttle costs, he still took time to go through the residence and give a weight estimate plus helpful moving recommendations, including information about other companies like Men on the Move and Two Men and a Truck: viewtopic.php?p=113117#113117
"jamcracker" reported a bad experience on his move booked by Corrigan-Farmington Hills to NC in 8/08 - boxes of fragile electronics were turned on their sides and heavy book boxes were loaded on top, so there was damage at delivery. However, he said that Corrigan's estimator and office staff were very professional and it was the driver sent by the van line who loaded the shipment, not Corrigan: viewtopic.php?t=17106 (origin agent on interstate move)
In 7/09 "michigantrumpet" gave Corrigan a very good review for his move from Ann Arbor to CA - the rep was Steve Vigo and the driver was Dave Hudson: viewtopic.php?t=18369 (origin agent for interstate move)
"newjobinMA" posted in 7/10 that Corrigan did a basically good job as the booker for his move from PA to NH, although there was an initial communications problem. Corrigan had the account for his employer-paid move and McCollister's in NJ was the origin agent with Diggins & Rose in NH as the destination agent: viewtopic.php?t=19546 (booking agent for interstate move)
"bogglemary" came back and gave a rave review of Corrigan on 8/27/11 giving high praise to Bob McWilliams, Devin & Brian:
