reviews. I did a terminal-to-terminal move and used local movers to
unload/load in AZ and DC. Using the movers was a little costly (approx $500
total), but worthwhile when moving during record-breaking heat. They also
ensured the ABF trailer was packed correctly for transit.
Originally I booked a cube, but realized it would be a tight fit. The
terminal had a trailer already staged, so I used 6 lin ft-about $200 less!
The ABF trailer reached the East Coast a day early -5 days transit total.
Everyone from the initial reservation to the terminals in AZ and MD were
courteous, friendly, and went out of their way to help me. Moving is a
stressful and expensive undertaking but with ABF, I felt like I everything
was handled professionally and promptly and the cost was EXTREMELY
reasonable compared to driving a truck cross-country or using full service
movers.

It would be more helpful and maybe more logical to have the most recent reviews posted first. What any company did years ago compared to what they are doing more recently is infinitely more important to my looking for moving services now.
Good job on this site - very helpful!

I'd like to add a very positive review for this service. My wife and I used an ABF U-Pack trailer to move our stuff from San Jose, CA to Greensboro, NC this July. The entire process was top notch, and the most reasonably priced for a cross country move. I was always able to get a phone rep right away anytime I called, and everything was explained very clearly and all my questions answered. They send you very clear documentation that summarizes everything about your trailer reservation, and you can also track the trailer online when it is enroute. You pay by the linear foot vs. by weight, and we were able to pack all our stuff into a shockingly small 12 ft. of space, but that also included packing everything tight to the ceiling of the trailer, and we had excellent loaders help us get it all in there, who we hired separately (ABF also has movers they recommend if you can't find any of your own). I highly recommend this service, and would definitely use it again for a long distance move.
