Boat vs Air Transport

Postby Kieutrang » Thu Oct 10, 2019 9:58 pm

Hello, my wife and I are moving from Washington DC to Hobart, Australia. I received a quote from Paxton, who I was impressed with. The difference between Air transport and Ship is only $1700. Air would be 14-21 days and Ship 6-8 weeks. I'm a bit surprised that the cost difference isn't significantly more. Does this sound right? Thanks.

I'm quite surprised that it's not significantly more for air transport. I'd be careful about that. From what I've seen, air transport tends to be far more expensive than that. The vast majority of international moves happen on a boat so it doesn't really add up to me.
