Postby sun4112 » Thu Jan 10, 2008 8:21 pm

Hello,
I am moving from 2br apt to another apt with in 5mins drive. Can any body recommend good mover. I got an quote for 77/hr for 3 hrs estimate with 3 people and a truck from greate american jersey city and ATLANTIC PLUS MOVING, Passiac. I may be selecting one of them. I feel like quote is reasonable. Any thing to watch out for?

Great American had 19 complaints at the BBB in the past 36 months and Atlantic has had 15 complaints. That's quite a few.

Great American is on our Blacklist, please avoid.

I agree with Farrah - don't use those people. Instead, go on www.eMove.com and choose a high-rated company in your area.

I finally moved with great experience. I have used Uruguay express from Elizabeth, NJ. Two guys came in with the truck. They really did a great job. No grumbling and always smiled. They gave me fixed quote of $300 and never asked anything more. They carefully used wrapper for furnitures and carefully dismantled and assembled them carefully in the new place. They not even demanded tips. Of course I paid handsome tips.

Great guys. I certainly recommend for others for move in NJ/NYC.

According to www.safersys.org, Uruguay Express (DOT #1702028) is a company with 2 trucks and drivers and it is listed as moving freight, not household goods. It advertises on Craigslist and www.uship.com. It says on uship.com that it moves goods interstate but it has no interstate authority.
