Thanks for the tip. I have actually contacted Premier Van Lines who is a broker for Mayflower. Has anyone heard anything about Premier? Thanks again!

Just to clarify, Premier is an agent for Mayflower not a broker. there is a big difference. I had a customer the other day who kept insisting that we were a broker for our van lines. I think by about the 5th time explaining to her she go it.

And then she asked you to cover her shipment with insurance, right?

A lot of the larger agents in the Unigroup system have their own operating authority, and it comes in handy a lot of times when Unigroup can't service the system. The shipment will be registered as an own authority shipment, and self hauled.

I handle a lot of Premier's overseas shipments, which they register on their own international authority.

Ummm Lee, didn't unigroup forbade agents using their authority as of Jan 1? At least they stopped us, to the tune of about 100K extra revenue that they will now get that used to be ours.

A lot of things happen on paper, but then reality sets in.

The van line can't cover their own stuff, so the beat goes on. They just keep uttering the dreaded word G11. We've had van line authority shipments sitting uncovered in the warehouse for 2 weeks.

I am concerned who Rick is and that he seem to infer that Premier Movers (Mayflower) is not a quality Mayflower Agent. We have been affiliated for 5 1/2 years with Mayflower and have won three Million Dollar Booking Awards. Priot to being a Mayflower agent, we were a Paul Arpin Agent and my company Premier Van Lines was a Wheaton Agent. Arrow Moving has not been an agent for thirty years in Salt Lake City. It was previously called Utah Moving and Storage. It was bought out by Arrow Moving of Cheyenne Wyoming.
I personally have been in the moving industry for over 35 years. I started Premier Movers with one truck and $1000 cash. We take pride in providing our customers with the best service and go out of our way to solve any problems that arise. We have also provided free help to several shippers who have been scammed by Rogue Movers, with assistance through the Move Resuce program.

To Archie, I am a FMC Licensed NVOCC that Unigroup is well aware of and I am a military carrier that provides the Unigroup systems a lot of business. I do my own international forwarding and do it quite well with the vast majorityof customers totally satisfied with our service. If anyone wants to call me, they can at 800-409-7628.

I can vouch for Art and Premier. We handle a lot of their SIT, and own authority international o/a services out of the San Diego area.
