Andy's Transfer, Exceptional Experience, LA to San Francisco move

Postby Beachguy » Mon Feb 18, 2008 12:58 pm

Reporting back on my move experience. Thank you so much for organizing this website.

Move: Los Angeles to San Francisco Bay Area (Palo Alto)
Company: Andy's Transfer of Glendale
Amount: 8000#

Summary:
- Moved 8000#, from Los Angeles to the San Francisco Bay Area
- Great service from estimator, phone rep, driver and loaders/unloaders
- Move completed on time, within estimate, with no loss or damage.
- Friendly, courteous and professional the whole way
- Very satisfied and recommend Andy's Transfer.

Details:

Needed to move a 2 BR apartment full of books and a mishmash of furniture from LA to SF. Called Delancey street in LA -- they could not give me a firm move date AND they'd have to transfer my stuff into another truck after it was picked up from my place. Both terms didn't work for me.

Called Andy's Transfer after reading about them on this site. The move went flawlessly from start to finish.

Specifically:
- Friendly staff throughout each step.
- Estimator arrived a few weeks before the move. Quick and polite.
- An on-the-ball phone rep at the office helped coordinate the pickup date.
- We communicated over phone/email/and fax and it wall went very smoothly.

Day-of-Move:
- Driver arrived early. Professional and friendly.
- Introduced himeslf and his two loaders.
- Took a survey of the move and got to work.
- Furniture that could be damaged was wrapped by them.
- They too extra care with glass items.
- Finished the load in less than four hours.
- Let me look inside the truck to see the organization (inside of truck was bigger than my place!)

Day-of-delivery:
- Driver kept me informed of estimated day/time of arrival
- Raining on the day of delivery -- didn't bother driver at all.
- Put down carpet protectant sheeting in my hallways
- Driver and helper unloaded items quickly.
- Placed items where we asked.
- Walked through house, offering to help move around furniture.

Wrap-up:
- No loss, no damage to items or my home.
- On time and within estimate.
- Professional, courteous and friendly staff throughout.

This was probably the best move I've ever had. Based on my experience with Andy's Transfer, I would use them again and recommend them.

I used Andy's to move from Los Angeles to Sacramento - 10,000 pounds plus. From start to finish, everything went as smooth as could possibly be expected. The estimator Jim Smith did a spot on job with his estimate. Janet who answers the phones was always very helpful and pleasant. Tim, Chris, Tom and the crew who moved us were outstanding. They moved all of our stuff down a very narrow flight of stairs without a single mark. I cant say enough about my experience these guys and would recommend this company without reservation. I want to extend a special thanks to Tim who runs a very tight ship and takes real pride in his job. Outstanding Tim.
