**AWESOME interstate move with JOYCE VAN LINES

Postby rea.mark » Sun Sep 27, 2009 9:26 am

We're a little late in posting this, but better late than never. Joyce Van Lines (based in CT) recently moved our family from Worcester, MA to Youngstown, OH. This was our 4th move in the past 7years, but the first full professional move. We had heard all the horror stories about moving companies, so we did our homework with picking a moving company....found Joyce Van Lines to be endorsed by this site and it just-so-happened that they were based close to us in MA. What a great decision!! This was BY FAR the easiest and lowest stress move we've ever had....despite being our furthest move, despite having a 1- and a 3-yr old, and despite shipping one of cars with them. The entire operation from start to finish was well-run, professional, explained in plain language, and had no surprises. The estimator, John Adams, took his time reviewing what we had to move and gave us an honest quote including a "not-to-exceed" price, which was not exceeded. He was professional and explained the process, timeline, and payment options in detail. The movers, led by the driver JEFF JOHNSON (AWESOME!!!), arrived on time and got right to work. Their care with our things and our home was immediately evident----first thing they did was tape cardboard down over all the hardwood floors and lay plastic carpet protector runners through all the heavy traffic areas in the house, including the stairs. Every single box and item to be moved was inventoried, and each piece of furniture was individually wrapped in plastic and heavy protective padding. The truck was packed tight, and they even saved room to pack our car on the truck perfectly, saving us the headache of dealing with another company to ship the car. The load arrived right on time in 2 days, and was in perfect shape, car and all. Unloading was handled as professionally and with as much care as loading. All padding and plastic wrap was removed, everything was re-assembled, and all trash was hauled away. What a huge improvement over trying to do this ourselves! Jeff Johnson and his crew were fantastic!
We would ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND JOYCE VAN LINES to anyone planning any kind of move, local or interstate!!

Joyce is a very good independant van line.

Glad to hear you had a good move as Im looking to have them move me next week and they will store my things until I decide if Im staying in the states or moving to the UK. Ive had bad expereiences with movers as we all have so have been a bit worried trusting yet another company with my things.
Ive dealt with Jim in the Redlands, CA office who seems very nice and efficient.
If anyone has worked with them, please let me know.
But I have heard of John Adams and wonder if I should work with him instead though my things are in CA.
Anyone having experience with this company would greatly ease my mind.
