Chicago to LA - good move booked by Prager

Postby chi2la » Mon Aug 31, 2009 9:58 am

We're moving from Chicago to LA in December and I have North American Van Lines (Reebie is their Chicago affiliate if that's the right term) coming over in a bit to give a quote. I'll let you know how it goes. Any advice on other Chicago movers to get quotes from would be appreciated.

The standard answer is to check the Superlist for movers who've been reviewed by past MovingScam readers.

Well, we're in LA now and everything went smoothly. We used North American for the move. Prager out of Naperville packed the house and quoted the move. The driver was Casey Kalma who was a complete pro and was in touch the whole time. The unpacking crew was from Andy's Transfer and Storage which is the North American agent out of Glendale, CA. The guys here had a tough time carrying the stuff up to the house which was a real hike but they didn't complain. Nothing was damaged and the only problem was that one small cupboard on the backside of the island was apparently missed in the packing so we're without a few kitchen items. It's possible it's around here somewhere but I think it was missed.

The car was shipped by Nationwide Transit Inc. out of Chicago and arrived intact.
