Connecticut movers

Postby Southern » Thu Mar 10, 2005 11:48 am

I am moving from Connecticut to Alabama in late May. I've gotten two estimates so far -- both in the same ballpark and both based on about the same weight. Does anyone have any information on Joyce Van Lines: 195 Christian Street
Oxford, CT 06478
I searched previous postings and found a couple of others asking about them, but no one mentioned if they had any experience with them.

What about Ace Van & Storage in Cheshire (a United agent)?

Just curious about your move.
Did you use Joyce Van Lines? If so, how did it go?
We are also in the process of moving and are
considering them.

THanks

I strongly recommend not using Joyce Van Lines. My wife and I had a terrible experience with them. Do yourself a favor and read the insurance disclaimer very carefully. They moved our family from Milford CT to Columbia CT. During the moving period our items needed to be in storage. They delivered our items approximately 3 weeks later and when the items were moved into our new house, our clothes and furniture had sustained heavy water damage. We received no assistance from the company reps and we are trying to get this matter resolved with the corporate office. Again, I would strongly advise anyone NOT TO USE JOYCE VAN LINES. Good Luck.

Sorry that happened to you, Mike. Have you filed complaints to any agencies yet?
