I recently hired Superior of Pompano to move only 3 miles. They broke the front on my upright piano, seriously damaged an expensive cigar humidor, gouged the top of the dining table, and multiple abrasions on other furniture. While the movers were nice guys, they had more forms than when I bought my house. I initialed a form following the move which had several words I missed acknowledging my belongings had sustained no damage. They have refused my claim for damage due to this clause.

While I had 30 days to submit the claim for damages, I should have refused to sign anything other than the initial moving contract because I realized most of them had hidden language for this reason. The form in question was primarily an evaluation of the courtesy, politeness and efficiency of the office staff and movers. It also was an acknowledgement of the 30 days to file a claim.

In summary, avoid this mover

Well, to be fair, they gave you the claim forms up front and you signed them without reading what you were signing. I don't think this is a reason to say "Avoid this mover". You even said they were nice guys.

Suddeth is a $200M company with 8 locations in Florida and 16 nationwide. Management holds positions on both the United Van Lines and AMSA Board of Directors. The general manager of the Deerfield Beach office has held the office for more than 15 years. They are a good company.

so whats the verdict on this company? anyone else have any experiences with them? I am considering giving them a call(considering 75% of movers in this area seem to have a spotty or shady track record)

I mean they have to be better than american van lines right?

Stay away from this nightmare company. They changed owners - if you look it up on sunbiz and they destroyed our furniture, disappeared with our stuff for days and then showed up asking for more money. They also lost computer equipment box and broke several pieces of furniture. They refuse to pay for anything.

I was just going to ask Suddath to schedule a quote, until I saw your note, Cguess. When I called the Miami number that Suddath lists, I got the name Suddath-Withers Van Lines and not Superior Moving. I'm just a tad confused.

Does anyone know anything about Suddath-Withers in Miami? The phone number the Suddath web-site gave is 305-885-8161. I'd sure appreciate any insight you all might have.

Thanks.

Suddath is a great company, you can't do better. Rick, what was the guys name who owned Withers and died young of brain cancer before his company was sold to Suddath? Seems like it was not Withers, but it mighta been.
