Local move in Raleigh, NC....McCollister's Transportation?

Postby jzoet » Sun Mar 19, 2006 7:15 pm

Has anyone had any experience with McCollister's Transportation Systems, Inc (United) in Morrisville, NC? We are moving locally and will have to store our belongings for a couple of weeks.

We received a quote from them and from All My Sons which after further research we are very happy we decided not to go with their low ball quote.

Thanks.
Juliann

Wow tons of people moving in Raleigh lately.

Juliann, yes thank god you didnt go with All My Sons. Their BBB record speaks for itself no matter how they try to sugar coat it when they come out to see your goods.

Although I have no respect for the local McCollister agent I think you should have no issues. The only thing you have to be aware of is if you do have a claim that you will deal with the corp office in Jersey. And the only other concern I would have is space and where they are storing your goods. Their warehouse is on the smallish size so I would just go by and visit to get that comfort level.

Best of luck,
Michael

Any major should be fine. They all have nice facilities. Atlas, United (Armstrong & McCollisters is just small), Allied. Dont care much about NA here. A good local company is Movin on Movers, but just make sure they spell everything out for you when quoting, not just give you a price.

Stay away from All My Sons, horrible BBB record, as I just mentioned in another post. Two men and a Truck in Raleigh doesnt have the best rep either.

Best of luck,
Michael

@ Michael-- Did you move with All My Sons? You seem to be quite opinionated.

Since Michael won't be by for a while, I'll answer no, he didn't move with AMS. He has years as a moving professional in Raleigh.

Oh I am very opinionated. And I can be wrong. But at that time I wasnt. I have 20 years industry experience, been in NC since 2000 and was on Dateline in 2003 and coined their National Honest Rep.

Need any more info rachin. The comment was made 5 years ago. Way to be on top of it. And I still stand by my comment with only one change, and it wouldnt be about All My Sons.

5 years ago or not, the post is still prominent in North Carolina postings so I figured I'd ask.

Racin,

Companies have had plenty of time to change their images from the time I posted to your question.

And if they asked again I would say the same thing about them. Since it is prominent.
