RUN!!! DON'T WALK AS FAR AWAY FROM FLORIDA VAN LINES OUT OF ST. PETERSBURG AS YOU CAN!!! OUR EXPERIENCE WITH THEM WAS OVER 3 YEARS AGO AND WE ARE STILL FEELING THE EFFECTS. THEY SENT FOUR VERY FOUL MOUTHED INEXPERIENCED "MOVERS" (ONE JUST OUT OF PRISON) IN A FILTHY TRUCK TO MOVE US. ONLY ONE OF THE FOUR HAD A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE. ONE WAS A CHILD UNDER 12. THREE OF THEM WERE NOT ABLE TO READ OR WRITE. THEY WERE A DAY AND A HALF LATE ARRIVING TO LOAD US UP AND OVER A WEEK LATE UNLOADING US. THEY REFUSED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE MANY DAMAGED GOODS TOTALING MANY TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. THE EXTRA INSURANCE WE PURCHASED THROUGH THEM WAS USELESS. FLORIDA VAN LINES HAS NO CONSCIENCE AND ARE A DISGRACE TO THE INDUSTRY!!!!!!
--Florida Van Lines/Mid-State Moving & Storage (independent) in Clearwater (Tampa area).
BE CAUTIOUS about using this company. Although its website is at www.flvanlines.com, its legal name is Mid-State Moving & Storage Co., Inc., and its MC # is 133152. As of 7/06, it had 38 BBB complaints over the past 36 months (very high). Doubts have been expressed by industry professionals, even though a couple of people gave the company favorable reviews. See this thread from 2004:

This is what Diane has put in her Supermover List.
