Kudos to a great driver - David Stanley

Postby ashishcn » Tue Jul 29, 2008 11:03 am

Hi,

I just wanted to recognize a driver who moved us from SF to Boston two years ago and did a phenomenal job. He was reliable, honest and took care of our stuff. He was also on time for pick up and delivery and prompt at getting back to us. We were very impressed with him and I wanted recognize him and his work ethic.

I used Mayflower for the move across the country but David Stanley (is a owner-driver) is I think a United driver. I have his contact information but I don't plan to post it here.

David Stanley specializes in cross-country moves.

Thanks - here is the last post you made on your move from SF to Boston with Caton (Mayflower) in 2006.

At that time you were worried about being assigned a United driver. I'm glad that everything worked out so well, and I'll add your review to Caton's listing on the Superlist. If you know the name of the United agent that David works for, please post it (or Archie, please post it). I gather that a shuttle was NOT used in Boston.

Did you like the service provided by Caton and Colleen Howard in CA?

Sorry, dont know it. Could find it, if he is still in the system, but would need the shippers name or reference number, to track him down.

Diane,

On your question about Caton. Overall I wasn't too impressed with their responsiveness. However, I was able to get a lot of help from BigLee (I may have that wrong) from this forum with regards to that move in terms of getting me scheduled. Also, the other movers that came with the driver on both ends were not as good as him but I was glad to see that instead of letting that bother him, David did the bulk of the moving. And during delivery he had to come and down a flight of stairs and also re-assembled some pieces they had dis-assembled. The entire time remaining very professional, polite and helpful.

Colleen Howard was average. Not terribly responsive but adequate.

Caton was fine. I don't remember the name of my co-ordinator but I never needed to contact him/her since David Stanley was very thorough. The one thing I would add is that Caton was very prompt to credit me back the initial amount they had charged because my shipment weighed less per the lading papers. I appreciated that.

Please let me know if there is any other information that I can provide.

Thanks!

The sales manager at Caton is Stan Herzbrun, who would probably have had a hands on approach if he set up the move.

Kind of interesting that Caton/Chipman didn't do a self haul on the shipment.

David was twice named household goods van operator of the month for United. I added that fact to the Superlist. As has often been said, the driver makes or breaks the move.
