Has anyone ever heard of VIVA MOVING in Brooklyn?????

Postby Katherine » Wed Dec 22, 2004 11:36 am

Interested in making reservations with this company but wanted to know if anyone had an experience with them. Their salesman sounds very convincing but am not sure if he's for real!

Katherine,

Have they provided you with an in-home survey and written estimate? If so - that paperwork should have their DOT/MCC numbers on it - please provide that here so that we can tell you what we are able to find out about them. Also - from who else did you receive written estimates, are you moving locally or long distance, and what are those estimates?

Please follow your gut - if it sounds too good to be true it almost always is.

Katherine,

Based on the info below I would say NO!

US DOT: 1166465 Docket Number: MC466381
Legal Name: B. VIVA MOVING, INC.
Form Type Insurance Carrier Policy/Surety Coverage
From To Effective
Date
From To
91X BIPD/Primary LIBERTY MUTUAL INSURANCE CO. AS1-321-090708-014 $0 $750,000 07/12/2004 12/16/2004
Cancelled
91X BIPD/Primary LIBERTY MUTUAL INSURANCE CO. AS1-321-090708-013 $0 $750,000 11/23/2003 07/12/2004
Cancelled
91X BIPD/Primary LIBERTY MUTUAL INSURANCE CO. AS1-321-090708-013 $0 $750,000 08/23/2003 11/23/2003
Cancelled
34 CARGO UNDERWRITERS AT LLOYDS LONDON BA 020190-4799 $0 $5,000* 09/02/2003 01/07/2004
Cancelled

Their Insurance was just cancelled 12/16 and hasnt been reinstated. Their operations classification is unknown. They only have 3 trucks and 3 drivers. Their authority history shows it was revoked 7/2004 and reinstated 8/2004. Licensing and Insurance shows their address as 6029 ROUTE 23A
HUNTER NY 12442
But the safer site shows it as:
5-B 53RD STREET
BROOKLYN, NY 11232

So all in all not impressive, not promising, not recommended you even bother getting a quote. Dont be fooled by all these people. They always sound so nice to start!

By the way how did you find them?

Best of luck,
Michael

Thank you for the information. I could have been scammed if it wasn't for this website and concerned individuals like yourself. Thank You! I was interested in B Viva Moving also. I found them Van Lines website. I am trying to weed out the the good companies from the unscrupulous ones. Thank you again for your help! Can you recommend a moving company?

"Maryanne" posted from the same computer used for this post by "John" on the American Move Aid thread:

I thought this was a message board to discuss personal experiences with moving companies to assist potential customers to avoid potential problems. However, you seem to be taking issue of the fact that there are misspellings which is totally irrelevant and inconsequential. Please feel free to contact John/Katherine at American Move Aid with any questions you may have. Toll Free 866-900-4700.

Also, "Katherine" (first post on this thread) is posting from the same computer used by Katherine of American Move Aid.

We appear to be seeing a catfight between American Move Aid and Viva Moving in Brooklyn.

Also, it's curious that American Move Aid's address is (or used to be) listed on safersys.org as "14-B 53RD STREET 2ND FLOOR, BROOKLYN, NY 11232." I remarked at the time that a moving company headquartered in a second-floor apartment doesn't inspire confidence.

Now we see that, according to Michael's research, Viva's address is "5-B 53rd Street, Brooklyn, NY 11232."

Is this more like a dispute between neighbors? Maybe Katherine and John are making too much noise up there and Viva can't sleep. Also, Viva thinks it has a better command of English than Katherine and John do.

Point made! I knew there were intelligent people that work for moving scam.com and I've proved my point that any moving company can post derrogatory statements about their competitors and it would be posted. Thank you very much for doing your homework.

Again Wishing everyone at Moving Scam.com a healthy and happy holiday season from American Move Aid!

"Katherine",

First of all, nobody "works for" MovingScam.com. There are no employees of Consumers First Corp, only unpaid volunteers so please don't try to comment on something that you know nothing about. Next, your point was totally dissed by Diane. Yes, the message was posted, yet your identity was also posted within minutes. You didn't get away with anything so you can stop patting yourself on the back.

I'm getting tired of your games and insults rather quickly and I'm not in much of a mood today to put up with you for much longer. I suggest you straighten up your act ASAP or you will lose your access to view this web site.

Happy Holidays.

After reviewing so many questions and replies it have been posted clearly this website is designed for people living in very small worlds that have nothing better to do than to talk (bitch) about things they know nothing about. I'm not afraid to reveal myself.

Has there been any update on this moving company? We are considering them for a interstate move to New York.
