In response to this need, MovingScam has constructed a "Superlist" bringing together comments and reviews that have been posted about full-service moving companies on MovingScam.com from 2003 to the present. A few independent packing and loading companies are included to help people who are doing self-moves.

People should be sure to read this article before deciding which companies to get quotes from. That article, by Tim Walker, explains the basic issues in choosing a moving company. Also, people moving interstate need to be careful not to choose small companies that have good reviews only for local or within-state moves. They should look for companies that have their own trucks and drivers and have performed well on interstate moves.
It is important to understand, too, that MovingScam.com is not endorsing the companies on the Superlist. It is only bringing together reviews and comments about them. People should keep in mind that there can be glitches with any move, there are no guarantees in the moving business, and moving is not an exact science. The website wants to give consumers SOME guidance, because otherwise they would be easy prey for all the sharks cruising around them, but it also doesn't want to give the impression that all is certain to go well if they go with a company that others have liked.
This is the first time that any website has attempted to bring together reviews of individual moving companies on such a large scale. Epinions.com has reviews of movers, but they are arranged by van line and many people don't name the individual company they are describing. The hope is that with time, the overall quality of the moving companies will become apparent as more and more reviews and comments are posted. Obviously, however, this is a work in progress and there will inevitably be some errors in a project of this size. MovingScam welcomes all suggestions for corrections and additions, which can be emailed to Tim Walker at [email protected] or sent to "twalker" by Private Message.
If people want to copy the information on the Superlist, they can cut and paste it but the formatting (including the emoticons) will be lost. Or, they can copy just the link at the top of each post. Note that some states, and some cities, have multiple posts because of the large number of moving companies located there.
